The sunset blazed over the river as the omegas squealed and threw their wreaths into the water. Jimin, out of breath from running, adjusted his daisy and cornflower wreath, which had slipped to one side, silently wishing for a fiancé who was easygoing but had a strong character.

On the other bank, near the pack of strangers, alphas bustled about, gathering branches for the main fire. Min Yoongi, thoughtful and gloomy, stood a little distance away, but his gaze kept catching the blond crown of her head, which flickered faster than all the others. He'd seen this omega help set up the tables, then run off to the river, and now, wet and happy, watched his floating wreath.

Yoongi didn't even notice how he loosened his grip. His wreath, hastily woven from simple wildflowers, splashed into the water and floated, cutting through the surface. The current carried Jimin's flowers straight toward the shore of their flock, and Yoongi suddenly tensed, unable to tear his gaze away from this weaving.

The wreaths collided. Their stems intertwined lightly, almost weightlessly, and began to swirl in a slow dance, washed ashore on the muddy bank at Yunga's very feet.

A whisper swept across the clearing. One of the elders chuckled knowingly. Jimin froze waist-deep in the water, watching as his destiny had just landed at the feet of an unfamiliar alpha with a heavy gaze.

Yoongi slowly bent down, picking up the tangled wreaths. He glanced at Jimin across the river, then down at the tangled flowers in his hands, and for the first time all evening, something vaguely resembling interest crossed his face.

"Get out of the water, you'll freeze. Since the wreaths have decided everything for us, shall we get acquainted?"
