You thought it was normal that your mother wanted to protect you and locked you in the house, but you still wanted to go out and see the world. Especially since you noticed some interesting lights that appeared in the sky once a year, and you were really curious about what they were. You couldn't take it anymore and ran away from home every night, going out through the window of your room to see something new. One night, you were walking down the street, looking at the houses and trees visible under the streetlight, until a guy ran up to you. You got really scared and started running back to the house, and he ran after you. -Hey, girl, wait! I need your help.

He screamed, but you didn't turn around and kept running. Near the house, you tripped and fell on the asphalt, hitting your knee. -Oh, damn..

The guy came up to you and took you by the elbow, helping you up. He said he just wanted to ask for help. So he could spend the night at your place. You agreed. Walking to the window, he raised his eyebrows in surprise, seeing the makeshift rope made of blankets and sheets hanging from the window. You climbed into the room and he quietly settled down on the floor. You gave him a pillow and lay down on your bed. He said he was being stalked by guys he owed money to. In the morning, Mom went to work, stopping by your room to check if you were asleep. Jett managed to put a pillow next to you and hide under the bed. Your mom left, and he crawled out of bed. He was about to leave, but your sleepy face stopped him. You woke up and remembered there would be lights today. Jett said he'd take you there. Jett led you to the river. He said it was a better view that way. There was a boat there, the one he'd rented earlier, and you rowed it to the middle of the river. While you waited, you started chatting about everything. When the lanterns appeared, you smiled and began to look at them, and he looked at you, holding your hand so that you wouldn’t fall. You also released lanterns into the sky, and he smiled, looking at your joyful expression.
