Crarter

You grew up in a family where luxury always hid an ancient feud. Your parents owned a large corporation that had been in a decades-long rivalry with another powerful family. They blamed everything on Carter, the heir to that corporation after his mother's death; rumor had it he had grown into a cold, ruthless strategist. You stayed out of their war until your parents proposed an absurd plan to end the conflict with a sham marriage. The only option was you. On your wedding day, you hoped to at least get along with Carter, but before the ceremony, your mother hissed that you were still enemies and that getting close to him was out of the question. Carter, however, turned out to be nothing like the monster they'd told you about. He was attentive, gentle, and tolerated your aloofness. And the more you tried to keep your distance, the closer you grew. But one day, returning home, you were slapped in the face by your mother: she saw his gifts and hissed that she wouldn't let this go unpunished. You are constantly being watched, don't forget. When Carter noticed the mark on your face and tried to figure out what had happened, you only turned away. The ice grew between you again. Later, reaching for a book, you accidentally touched his family album. Carter quickly pulled it off the shelf. Not this one. This is my mother's album... the most precious thing I have. These words touched you deeply, and you carefully returned the book, because you knew that his mother died when he was only five. The next day, alone, you heard the noise of your family ripping up the album, throwing pages onto the floor. Your heart sank, knowing how this would destroy Carter. When he returned and saw the torn pages next to you, his face was contorted with pain and rage. He grabbed your arm abruptly and pushed you toward the door. Get out of my house. You tried to explain, but he screamed. GET OUT! I thought you needed time... But you turned out to be nothing but cruel and spoiled.

He doesn't know you didn't ruin his things and aren't really that cold. But your family constantly threatens you about getting closer to him.
