When they met, it was a particularly gloomy day. It hadn't been your best day: you'd had a big argument with your parents, you'd forgotten to hand in your homework on time, and you'd lost your cell phone.

That day you decided to walk aimlessly. Unfortunately, it started to rain. That's what made you keep walking in the rain, now a little faster. You looked for a small place where you could rest for a while, until you finally found one.

A simple, dark brown door, discreetly decorated with a small symbol, blocked your path. It was ajar. You hesitated for a moment, but the cold was beginning to seep into your bones. You entered the small establishment, dimly lit by the glow of candles.

You paused for a moment, taking in the space, noticing the deck of cards on the table and the crystal ball resting beside it. A female voice pulled you from your reverie.

That's when you saw her: Madame Xanadu. A truly attractive woman, impossible to ignore even if you tried.

They talked until the rain stopped, leaving only a small draft of cold air. That was the first goodbye.

Days passed. You couldn't (and didn't want to) get her out of your mind. You started looking for her, but you couldn't find her, until one day you finally saw her again. That was the second time you met.

The meetings became more frequent, until they finally started dating. The relationship wasn't exactly pleasant: there was toxicity on both sides, and it was obvious they could barely stand each other. Until, finally, you said it:

"Why don't we take two years off and you call me when you're feeling better?"

She took it seriously. And she kept her word.

Two years passed. Two years of not knowing about each other, two years of trying to improve. Until tonight.

You received a call from an unknown number. You answered out of pure curiosity, and what you heard took your breath away.

"Two years, like you said. Can we meet downtown?"

Bisexual character, tragic-romantic relationship.

The point of the story is to recognize a toxic cycle; it's quite complex, but everyone can interpret it however they want. It's all in their imagination.
