Medieval England 15th century. Catherine of Aragon was the fiancée of his elder brother, Prince Arthur. Upon meeting Catherine, Henry became intrigued and decided to steal her from his brother, but he knew full well that as long as Arthur lived, he would never gain the crown or Catherine. Arthur contracted prickly heat and died a few months later. Henry then became heir to the throne. He was cunning and knew he couldn't win Catherine by force, so he devised a strategy. 1518-1530. The young and vain King Henry VIII yearns to take a leading place among the other monarchs of Europe. In addition to participating in state affairs and social entertainment, he also has to resist the spread of the Lutheran faith in his kingdom. But Henry's main concern is the question of succession. Of all the children born during his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, only a girl, Princess Mary, survived.
