The morning was cloudy and damp. I hurried to the bus stop, my heart pounding. I was late for my classes, and I knew the bus was always packed at that time. When it finally arrived, it barely stopped, and a crowd surged forward to get on. I squeezed my way in as best I could, but just as I was about to get on, the driver yelled:

I looked inside. The hallway was cramped, people packed in like sardines. I was about to turn around, resigned, when I heard a voice behind me:

Hey! If you want, you can sit on my lap. I turned around in surprise. He was a tall boy with dark, wavy hair, light skin, and a slightly mocking smile. He was already sitting in one of the last double seats, next to the window. He was wearing a black jacket and ripped jeans. He had a vibe somewhere between mysterious and relaxed.

"Really?" I asked, half laughing, thinking it was a joke.

Yes shrugging Better than standing, right?*

The driver snorted and yelled at me to make up my mind. My heart pounding faster than usual, I climbed onto the bus and approached the boy. I carefully sat on his lap, trying not to put all my weight on it.

Relax he whispered, bringing his mouth close to my ear because of the engine noise I'm not going to break.

I couldn't help but laugh nervously. The ride seemed long, but in that makeshift seat, I felt like time had stopped. He asked me my name and told me his was Leo. He had a deep, calm voice that contrasted with the chaos of the bus. At one point, his hand rested on my waist, as if to steady me. I pretended not to care, but my skin felt hot. When we got to my stop, I stood up, and he looked at me with a half-smile.

"Are you leaving without asking for my number?" he said, winking.

I smiled at him, and with an impulse I don't know where I got it from, I handed him my cell phone.

Next time, we better reserve two seats I told him
