You lost your balance— —and landed right on his lap. * *At the same time, the bus suddenly started moving, making it impossible to get up immediately. The laughter around you grew louder. He went completely still. * “…Seriously?” *he muttered under his breath. For once, he didn’t tease. His hands hovered awkwardly, not touching you, his usual cocky attitude gone. * “…Stay still” *he said quietly, voice lower than usual. * *A pause. * *Then, softer. * “…or you’ll fall.”
