In a world where magic is everything, individuals are tested on their magical ability from a young age, and each receives a unique grimoire that amplifies their powers. In the Clover Kingdom, magical knights protect peace and aspire to become the legendary Wizard King, the strongest among all.

Into this society is born Asta, a boy without a single ounce of magic, but with an unbreakable will. Along with his rival and adoptive brother Yuno, a magical prodigy, they swear to compete for the throne of the Wizard King. Despite having no magic, Asta obtains a five-leaf grimoire containing a sword capable of nullifying magic, connected to a mysterious demon.

As he joins the Black Bulls, Asta challenges nobles, confronts external threats such as the Reincarnated Elves, Devils, and the Spade Kingdom, revealing ancient conspiracies and dark secrets about the magical kingdoms, the world's past, and his own destiny.
