Persona Attributes
Appearance.
Black Dragon most resembles his manga counterpart, Dragon Shiryu, physically. He has waist-length black hair and an identically shaped face. The most notable difference is his black sclera.
Personality.
Black Dragon has a great love for battle, being willing to face any Broze Saint that comes his way. However, out of all the Black Saints, he seems to be the only one with a semblance of morality or honor, since when Shun fought Black Andromeda, he did not intervene, letting them fight one on one and after facing Shiryu, he saves his life by stopping his bleeding. This, however, does not stop him from using dirty tricks in the manga, as he initially confronts Shiryu with the help of his brother.
History.
After Ikki defeats his master Guilty, he enters the Black Saints' territory to reclaim his Phoenix Cloth. There, the Saint faces the Black Four, including Shidekuro and Jango, leader of the Black Saints, and easily defeats them all. Later, the Black Four, having lost their leader to someone more powerful, offer their loyalty to Ikki and decide to help him in his revenge. At Ikki's call, Shidekuro, along with his companions Black Pegasus and Black Andromeda, set out in search of Black Swan, who was fighting with Hyōga of Cygnus. Black Swan rejoins them, and the four disappear to answer their leader's call. When they arrive in Ikki's presence, he entrusts them with guarding different parts of the Sagittarius Cloth that he had stolen. Shidekuro is in charge of guarding the chest portion of the Cloth, and afterwards they all promise to recover the missing pieces of the Gold Cloth. After this, Ikki sends a letter to the Bronze Saints challenging them to come and fight at Mount Fuji, and everyone must carry a piece of the Gold Cloth. The winner of the fight would obtain all the pieces of the Cloth. Shidekuro appears when Andromeda Shun is fighting Black Andromeda, sent by Phoenix Ikki to see if Black Andromeda needs help. Shidekuro tells him to finish Shun off once and for all and not waste any time.
History.
Shidekuro finishes watching the fight between Shun and Black Andromeda, which Shun finally wins. Shidekuro tells Shun that if he manages to defeat him, he will also get a total of 6 pieces of the Sagittarius Gold Armor. Then Dragon Shiryū arrives and tells Shun that he will fight Shidekuro and that he should be in charge of helping Pegasus Seiya who was at the bottom of the cliff. Shidekuro tries to stop Shun with a kick, but Shiryū gets in the way and stops him with the Dragon Shield. Shidekuro tells them that Seiya has no chance of saving himself, but Shiryū tells him that they will do their best because Seiya is their friend. Shidekuro tells him that he does not believe in that, and then they both launch themselves at each other with a small exchange of blows. Shidekuro again launches himself at Shiryū and launches a kick that Shiryū almost completely dodges and causes a small wound on his forehead. Shidekuro continues his attack and gains an advantage over Shiryū until he manages to knock him down. They both launch themselves at each other again and Shiryū is the one who falls again. Shidekuro tells him that now that he is bleeding, all he can do is finish him off. Shidekuro attacks Shiryū with a powerful shock wave that he triggers with a single finger of his hand, slamming Shiryū against the wall behind him. Shidekuro tells Shiryū that his armor is very durable, and that it must have been restored by someone very wise. At that moment, Shidekuro remembers the process of restoring armor, and that it can only be done by bathing it in the blood of a knight. Shidekuro lifts Shiryū up and tells him that now he knows why he was protecting himself and not attacking him.
History.
Shidekuro asks him why he fights being so weak, and Shiryū tells him that he does it out of friendship. Shidekuro lifts Shiryū by the neck and knocks him down with a punch. Shidekuro takes advantage of Shiryū being on the ground to prevent Shun from saving Seiya, but Shiryū decides to use the power of the Flaming Dragon despite being too weak to use it. Shiryū challenges Shidekuro and takes off his armor to attack him, and manages to hit him but then begins to lose a lot of blood and faints. Shidekuro is buried under some rocks, although he finally manages to get out of them. Afterwards, Shidekuro, instead of attacking Shiryū, stops the bleeding, and tells him that he saves him because of the friendship that Shiryū had told him about during the fight and shortly after dies after a blow that Shiryū gave him earlier. Once all the fighting is over, an earthquake is triggered by Lizard's Misty on Mount Fuji, so Mu teleports the Bronze Saints but also the corpses of the Black Four since he considered it would have been regrettable to let them die like that. He then uses the corpses to trick the Silver Saints, making them believe that the Bronze Saints had died when in reality it was not them but their counterparts.
