Pegasus Tenma

Tenma has brown hair and reddish-brown eyes. According to his best friend, he is tall as a Knight, despite having been short as a child. As a child, his attire was a shirt and pants with suspenders, and his hands were bandaged. As an aspiring Saint, and before obtaining his Cloth, he is seen wearing his training clothes. However, when he dons his Cloth, he wears a red outfit.

As a child he is shown to be aggressive, rude and protective, especially with Alone. Tenma has a kind heart, as he showed at the beginning by not letting his village flood at the cost of sacrificing himself. He has shown affection to everyone he meets, he also shows depression as in the death of Hasgard, even thinking about fleeing the battle. He is very sociable, since he even talked to El Cid of Capricorn, a Saint who was very cold. Many times, when people died, he thought he was weak and blamed himself for it, however in the final fight against Alone, Tenma is determined to save him and shows a lot of confidence in himself. He has similarities with his counterpart from the future Pegasus Seiya, he is very optimistic and impulsive, he also cares a lot for Athena or Sasha, and he after learning a lot from the Gold Saints, decides to never give up.

Tenma was born in Belgium but his parents were framed for a crime, Tenma arrived in Italy where he was raised in an orphanage in a town of unknown name, along with Sasha, Alone and other children who are there. Tenma lives a quiet life in the Orphanage until Alone has his encounter with Pandora and this has a change of attitude, Tenma is lying in a tree when he feels that something is happening to Alone, later he goes to him and takes him to the Orphanage. That same night everyone in the Orphanage is notified that due to a big storm a rock blocked the water course and the Village where the Orphanage is located is in danger of flooding. Tenma decides to go try to get rid of those rocks so that the water course returns to normal and the Orphanage is not flooded.

Tenma hits the stones again and again but only manages to hurt his hands, by not giving up he remembers Alone and the children of the orphanage, and a cosmos emanates from Tenma's body and hits the rocks with great force and collapses them all, he falls unconscious and is in danger of being carried away by the course of the water, but Dohko of Libra notices him and saves him. Dohko mentions to Tenma that if he would not like to use that force for the good of many people, becoming a Saint of Athena, Tenma agrees to go to train at the Sanctuary, so he has to say goodbye to Alone and leave him. Alone asks Tenma to let him paint a picture of him to remember him, he doesn't finish it because he can't find the right red for his eyes, Alone breaks down in tears and Tenma approaches him telling him to wait for him at the Orphanage and that he will meet him again when he becomes a Saint of Athena, so Tenma leaves for the Sanctuary with Dohko to receive the training of a Saint. Upon arriving at the Sanctuary, Tenma begins to train as a disciple of the Gold Saint, Dohko of Libra. Tenma meets Yato at the training camp, the latter does not like Tenma very much because it was rumored among the aspirants that Tenma had awakened his cosmos by himself, so Yato insists on proving that he is stronger. Tenma tries to shake his hand, but Yato rejects him and they begin a small fight in which Yato ends up as the winner.

Tenma, frustrated at being defeated by Yato, hits a rock but can't break it. Dohko arrives and mocks him for saying that even though several months have passed, he still can't break a simple rock. Dohko explains to Tenma the fundamental principle for destroying anything, which are atoms, and gives him a demonstration. Dohko completely destroys the rock with a single finger, leaving Tenma impressed. Dohko reminds Tenma of the promise he made to Alone, and he gets up from the ground determined to become a Saint. Just then, Tenma senses someone, turns around, and sees a flower bracelet identical to the ones Sasha made for him and Alone. Tenma quickly goes after that person, thinking it was Alone. He takes that person by the arm and realizes it's Sasha, Alone's sister and childhood friend. They were both surprised to see each other at the Sanctuary, so Sasha asks Tenma if he wants to become a Saint, and he answers yes. In turn Tenma asks her what she was doing in the Sanctuary if they had already adopted her, when Sasha is about to answer him, a Spectre appears. Several whips with eyes on their tips are about to catch Sasha but Tenma takes her in his arms and saves her from the attack, but the whips trap Tenma, the Spectre was Raimi as Worm. When the Spectre is about to attack Sasha, Tenma manages to free himself from the Worm Bonds, and launches an attack at Raimi, but he dodges it, Raimi furiously throws his Worm Bonds again that trap Tenma again, and leave him seriously injured, in addition to Raimi continuing to kick Tenma on the ground.

To which Sasha reacts by asking Raime to leave Tenma alone, while a huge cosmos emanates from Sasha, Raimi realizes that Sasha is none other than Athena, so he attacks her, but Shion of Aries appears and takes care of Raimi, defeating him with his Stardust Revolution. That's when Tenma finds out that Sasha is Athena, because Shion mentions it. 5 years later Tenma is fighting in the Sanctuary Arena against another aspirant, in search of the Pegasus Cloth, Tenma manages to defeat his opponent and the Patriarch grants him the Pegasus Cloth. At the same time the Patriarch mentions to Tenma that he must prepare because he will soon have to fight with the forces of Hades that already roam the world, so Tenma dresses his Cloth and realizes that Sasha is watching him and makes a sign telling him that he finally managed to become a Saint. At dusk Tenma visits Sasha in her Temple, there they remember their childhood experiences, until the moon behaves in a strange way, Sasha realizes that Hades has finally awakened and therefore the Holy War between Athena and Hades from that moment has begun. After finishing off the Specter, Dohko catches up with Tenma and they both witness how Yato was attacked by a strange lightning, Yato mentions that many Specters are gathering next to a blond-haired boy, whom they call Hades. Suddenly descending from the air, Alone with a different personality, Tenma is shocked to learn that his best friend has become a host of Hades' soul. Alone suddenly takes out Tenma's painting, which he had painted two years ago, tells him that he has finally found the right color for his eyes, "True Red", suddenly many corpses of the village people appear in a river of blood, Tenma is totally stunned and Alone takes out two brushes and crosses out Tenma's painting, which kills Tenma. After that, Hades Castle rises in what used to be the People's Cathedral and Tenma and Yato's corpses are trapped in the rubble, resigned by the apparent deaths of Yato and Tenma, Dohko and Shion leave again for the Sanctuary.

Tenma, when being "killed" by Alone, did not die completely since the flower bracelet that Sasha gave him saved his life and his soul was only transported to a prison in Yomotsu Hirasaka, in the Underworld, of which Jamil's Master has learned, so he sends his subordinate to Italy to rescue Tenma's body, it is Yuzuriha who finds Yato and Tenma's corpse and teleports them to Jamil. There, the Master asks Yato and Yuzuriha, who were heading to Yomotsu, to bring Tenma's soul back to the world of the living. Yato and Yuzuriha enter Yomotsu and go in search of Tenma. Tenma wakes up and realizes that he is chained and then the Specter who is guarding him, Fyodor of Mandrake, appears. He tells him that he doesn't know how he didn't die, but tells him that one of the Three Judges of Hell is heading to attack the Sanctuary. Yato and Yuzuriha hear a scream and head there, they find Tenma, cautiously they enter the prison but, a Skeleton appears and attacks them, but Yuzuriha easily defeats it, when the Skeleton is defeated, Fyodor appears again, and has a battle with Yato and Yuzuriha, they are defeated by which Tenma becomes enraged and throws a Pegasus Sui SeiKen at Fyodor and finishes him off. So Yuzuriha explains to them that apart from saving Tenma, the Master entrusted them with another mission. Tenma wants to return to the Sanctuary quickly since a Judge of the Underworld is heading there. But Yuzuriha stops him, mentioning that Jamil's Master has entrusted them with a mission that they have to solve in the Underworld itself. Yuzuriha tells them that they must go to the deepest part of the Underworld, she mentions that the Specters are immortal, and in order to seal their souls, the Master has asked them to go to a place in the Underworld, called Mokurenji, it is a tree, which gives fruits that with a sufficient amount of cosmos, can be capable of sealing the souls of the Specters.

So they head there, they see an exit and enter through it, to their surprise they find Cerberus, the Guardian Dog of the Underworld, which attacks them, Yuzuriha and Yato try to defeat it but they can't, Tenma uses his Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken to hit the three heads of the dog. They manage to defeat him, but almost after, Yato feels a strange sensation and tells Tenma that his friend is near, and Alone Hades appears in front of Tenma, Yato and Yuzuriha. Alone explains to Tenma how he survived his attack, while that happens, Yuzuriha thinks that another opportunity to have Hades near will not be repeated, so she launches to attack Hades, but is rejected by a power pressure that Hades launches. After seeing how he damages Yuzuriha, Tenma becomes enraged, but Alone grabs his face, telling him to join his Army and together they create a world of peace and darkness. Tenma rejects him and tells him that he is on Sasha's side, to which Hades responds that then it is fate that decides his fate and tells him that he will go see him at the Sanctuary, once Tenma is there. Tenma responds that he will be waiting for him and this time he will fight with him, so Hades leaves and the three Saints continue on their way. Later, they arrive at a large waterfall of blood and realize that the Mokurenji is at the top of the falls. They quickly try to climb it, but Tenma feels something strange. When he turns to see Yato and Yuzuriha, he realizes that they are not moving, as if time had stopped for them. At that moment, he senses a strange cosmos; something begins to appear in the waterfall; it is the Golden Saint, Asmita of Virgo.

Tenma is surprised to encounter a Gold Saint in the Underworld. Asmita tells him that he was expecting to encounter the Sinner of Tenkai, but he didn't expect it to be a mere child. Asmita insinuates that Athena is not doing things right and that perhaps the truth that humanity should follow is the one offered by Hades. Tenma becomes enraged and attacks Asmita with his Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken, to which Asmita gets rid of the attack with her defense, Kān, and tells him that emotions like that soften her fist. Tenma manages to get up and Asmita tells him that she knew that would not be enough to finish off "The God-Killer Man". That's when Asmita explains to Tenma about the connection that exists since the mythological era, between Hades and the Saint of Pegasus. She tells him that Pegasus has always been with Athena in all the Holy Wars and that the Saint of Pegasus has been the only human capable of harming Hades. Not understanding anything Asmita says, Tenma launches into the attack again but is stunned by an image that arises in his mind, he sees Asmita and behind him a representation of Buddha. Tenma asks him who exactly Asmita is, he replies that he is only a wanderer in search of the truth, and tells him that if he does not manage to defeat him he will not be able to defeat Hades. Then Asmita asks Tenma his reasons why he fights and attacks Tenma with his technique; Ten ma Kofuku. Tenma replies that he fights because he is a Saint of Athena and for the peace of the Earth. Asmita attacks him again and tells him that that cause is not enough, that perhaps the world Hades desires is the best for the Earth, and that in a world like that he will not be able to be reborn again, immediately after Asmita launches another of her techniques; Rikkudo Rinne.

Which sends Tenma through the six worlds of Asmita's technique, the technique falls apart and Tenma is confused and wonders if he himself is to blame for Alone becoming Hades, but gets up telling Asmita that the reason he fights is for Alone and Sasha, in addition to fulfilling the promise the three made when they were children. Tenma launches himself to attack Asmita, but he protects himself again, and makes Asmita stand up, causing him to execute his final technique; Tenbu Hōrin, which deprives Tenma of his senses. Asmita makes him see an illusion in which Asmita kills Sasha, to which Tenma reacts enraged and throws a blow with great power to Asmita, but he protects himself again. When he realizes, Tenma is hitting the Mokurenji and wonders where Asmita is, the latter appears again and tells him that the Mokurenji has reacted to his cosmos, and that it is giving its last fruits. Tenma asks if the fight was an illusion, Asmita tells him that it could be, and orders him to take 108 fruits and take them to Jamil's Master, and that they will meet again on Earth, Asmita disappears and Tenma faints, the waterfall begins to collapse, then Yato and Yuzuriha can move again and wonder what happened, Yato takes Tenma who falls from the top of the waterfall while Yuzuriha takes the fruits, so they prepare to leave the Underworld. Yuzuriha takes Tenma with her back to the world of the living while Yato stays fighting with the Deadly Beetle Stand, there Tenma returns to the Jamil temple. Jamir's Master welcomes Tenma and Yuzuriha, but Yato still has not returned to life, Yuzuriha holds his body in her arms, and explains to Tenma that Yato stayed in the Underworld fighting in order to get her and Tenma to escape. Tenma can't believe what Yato has done for him, but suddenly Yato comes back to life to everyone's joy.

Tenma thanks them for coming to save them, but Jamil's Master tells them that it is not time to celebrate, since the Specters have already stepped on the lands of Jamil. They feel a familiar cosmos and leave the temple, it was Asmita of Virgo who had killed the Specters that arrived in Jamil, Asmita asks them to take him to the Master, since it seems they have fulfilled their mission. Back at the Temple, the Master explains to Tenma the purpose of the fruits, and how they will be purified by means of Asmita's cosmos, in that the Specters previously defeated by Asmita come back to life and are attacking the Temple. Tenma discovers that Asmita is totally blind, but he tells him that it is not an inconvenience, at the same time Asmita asks the Master that he wants to repair Tenma's Cloth with his blood. Once Tenma's Cloth is repaired, he goes out alone to attack the Specters, but they manage to corner him, but Yuzuriha and Yato arrive to help him, Yuzuriha explains that they must protect the Temple since Asmita is purifying the beads of the Rosary. The Specters are knocked down again and again but get up due to their immortality, suddenly an immense cosmos appears at the top of the tower, it is Asmita, Tenma tries to get Edward de Sylph to attack Asmita, but the latter easily defeats them. Tenma reaches the top of the tower and meets an Asmita who is disappearing due to giving up all his cosmos in order to make the rosary, Asmita tells him that he is younger than he thought and that he reminds her of the young Athena, Asmita with her eyes open for the first time entrusts Athena's safety to Tenma and disappears leaving only the Cloth of Virgo.

Tenma breaks down in tears seeing the death of the Golden Saint and not having understood it. While Tenma was in Jamil, the Sanctuary is being attacked by Hades himself, Hades broke Athena's Kekkai and managed to enter the Sanctuary immobilizing all the Saints who are in the Sanctuary, but suddenly a light appears between Hades and Athena, it is Tenma who thanks to teleportation manages to arrive to protect the Goddess. Tenma shows Hades the rosary that Asmita created in order to seal her Army of Specters, Hades remembers when he ran into Tenma in the Underworld. Tenma tries once again to make Alone see reason, he tells him that if he really wants to kill his sister like he did with the people of the village, to which Alone remains silent and a dog appears, it is the one that Alone saved two years ago. Alone replies to Tenma that at the time their promise meant something special to him but that now it is different and tells him that of course he wants to kill Sasha, since they are in a Holy War. That is when the puppy takes the form of Cerberus, the Guardian Dog of the Underworld, and attacks Tenma and Sasha. Pandora sends Wimber of Bat and Cube of Dullahan to eliminate him, but thanks to the sacrifice of the saint Aldebaran of Taurus they are defeated, but Aldebaran loses his life. Tenma meets Kagaho of Bennu whom he believes is responsible for Aldebaran's death and attacks him, but Kagaho grabs him to warn him that more Spectres will come to kill him. Later, Tenma attempts to flee the Sanctuary, blaming himself for Aldebaran's death, and encounters Manigoldo who mocks his weakness, Manigoldo subdues him and locks him in the stone prison of Cape Sounion so that he cannot escape the Sanctuary, but is freed by Yato and Yuzuriha as his master's plan.

After this, Tenma heads to Hades Castle itself but first they pass through the Forest of Death created by the god of death Thanatos where he becomes engulfed in several illusions that are planted by Veronica de Nasu, being saved at the last moment by Manigoldo himself. After the sacrifice of Manigoldo and the Patriarch Sage; Thanatos is locked in Pandora's Box, and the Forest disappears, however Hypnos has plans, and sends his henchmen to meet Tenma. Manigoldo appears in spirit for the last time to say goodbye to Tenma, asking him not to start crying and disappears.

His most important battle with the Oniros was with Morpheus in the Yumekai, on the verge of being defeated, Alone encourages him and defeats Morpheus with his Divine Armor. He also faces the god Oneiros, together with El Cid they manage to defeat him, at the cost of the latter's life. The new patriarch, Hakurei, faces the forces of lesser specters and reaches Hades' castle to break the seal that weakens the knights of Athena but is stopped by Hypnos. After a good battle Hypnos is locked in another sacred box and Hakurei dies at the hands of Hades who also tries to kill Dokho, Tenma, Shion, Yuzuriha and Yato. Dokho sacrifices himself so that the others escape and Hades begins his journey to heaven to meet Pandora and start his war. When Shion and Yuzuriha were fighting against Alone, Tenma appeared next to Dohko, and horrified he watched as Alone pretended to be Hades, Tenma approached Hakurei's lifeless body, when Alone let out a short laugh, Tenma couldn't stand this mockery and threw himself at his friend, being stopped by the latter, asking him somewhat mockingly: Tenma of Pegasus, who is this Alone you mentioned? Alone? Now I remember that human I used as a vessel for my soul, to be reborn in this era. I'm sorry, but he no longer exists. To which Tenma asks him "He no longer exists, as Alone no longer exists, then he answers "If you are not him, then who are you !?", to which Alone responds; "I am King Hades" and it is immediately where Tenma tries to wake him up with a Pegasus Meteor" which is returned by Alone without any effort mentioning that he is not going to kill him yet, but first shows him how he deceived and murdered a large number of people belonging to the army of the goddess Athena among which was Salo before this scene Tenma loses his mind and launches himself again against Alone summons his sword and manages to neutralize Tenma's attack, mentioning that he is a simple Mortal and that the link between Hades and Pegasus will be cut.

However Dohko protecting Tenma, both Saints attack Alone with their techniques "Pegasus Meteor" and the "Hundred Dragons of Rozan" which Alone manages to stop with a single movement of his sword, Shion mentions that they must protect the soul of the only man who managed to hit the mythological body of Hades and for this they need to create a distraction to which Dohko offers and launches into the attack with his "Flying Dragon", Alone manages to stop Dohko's attack, but realizes that Shion manages to rescue Tenma and Yuzuriha (in the anime Yato too), leaving the castle thanks to the Teleportation of the Saint of Aries. And being already in the air safe from Alone, Tenma, realizing the death of his master says sadly: It is not true, because like this!, because him! ... Dohko !!!. Immediately after, Alone is seen leaving the temple while looking at the bodies of Dohko and Hakurei covered in blood, saying with total coldness: "They escaped right before my eyes, such cunning humans, now, more than ever, I wish to end this world... I'm also fed up with this castle... I'm going to allow them to keep it, to use it as a tomb." Back at the Sanctuary, Tenma reproaches himself for not being strong enough; and feeling a great pain in his heart at not being able to do anything to prevent all that massacre committed by Alone, he said: I'm very weak... very weak... Damn it!!, Damn it!!... Why!!?, Why!!?, Why am I not stronger!!!? Then Degel from Aquarius appears, and advises him to go to Kanon Island if he wants to become strong.

When he arrives on the island, he meets the demon who inhabited the volcano, asking him to take him as a disciple. After grueling training, Tenma managed to stop the volcano from erupting, although he fell unconscious. When he regained consciousness and saw his armor case back, Tenma burst with joy at seeing that he managed to save the village. Later, he is sent to the Himalayas with the Orichalcus. He arrives with Sisyphus just in time before Aiacos destroys the ship that will take them to the Lost Canvas. After Sisyphus defeats Aiacos, he fights Hades himself until Athena arrives. When they were about to free Alone from Hades, Pandora arrives and saves him, then they board the Lost Canvas. Already on the Lost Canvas, he is confronted by Pharaoh of Sphinx to weigh his heart, but it ends up being Sisyphus who does it. After Sisyphus, Shion and Regulus use Athena's Exclamation to destroy the door to the Lost Canvas. It has recently been revealed that his father is a Youma of Mephistopheles. A Specter under the orders of Hades and almost died at the hands of Kahago of Benuu. It was also revealed that his mother is Partita, Athena's personal servant, forced to fight her without knowing Partita's true intentions, he manages to awaken the Kamei of Pegasus (the divine armor of Pegasus), after that Pandora tells him that Alone still lives and has deceived them all, to which Tenma replies that he had already realized that and prepares to face him. Being in the presence of his friend, and now enemy, Alone, the latter stabs him (so to speak) with his brush. At that time, Yato, Yuzuriha, and the other Bronze Saints arrive on the scene to find a dying Tenma, who had not only been wounded in body, but also in soul. Unicorn Yato decides to do everything possible to wake him up even though he knows that the God of the Underworld is against him, Tenma finally wakes up and prepares to fight against the strongest opponent of his life.

After Hades seems defeated, Tenma and Athena disappear and Hades appears in his true form, he tells the Gold Saints of Libra and Aries that it is useless, but then the dead Gold Saints appear and burn Hades, after that Tenma and Athena go to meet Tong-hu (Dohko) and Shion, Alone also appears, already freed from Hades' control, after that the three go to the temple where Hades is and are not seen again, since they die to save the earth. Then begins what would be the path to the next holy war.
