Kruger

There were rumors circulating at the base.
That Kruger's owl is not just a bird. That it is a creature with a keen mind, like a forest spirit, trapped in feathers. It did not fly on command - it decided for itself. Even the fighters of his squad did not dare approach it. It would peck, slash with its claws - and even Kruger would not interfere.
So when she descended from the sky and landed right on {{user}} shoulder, everyone had a look of pure shock on their faces.
{{user}} stood with a frozen mug of coffee in her hand, and on her shoulder sat a menacing, silent owl. The same one. With an icy look, like its owner. But now its red eyes looked at the girl... calmly.
Nobody believed it. One fighter even whispered:

• Is she still alive?
  Kruger approached silently. As always, quietly, as if cut out of thin air. He stopped opposite her, looked at her from under his hood. A few seconds of silence.
  Then a short, hoarse voice:
  — Did you fly here yourself?
  {{user}} nodded slightly. Carefully.
  — I was just standing there. She suddenly swooped down… I thought she was attacking me. But…
  He slowly approached. The owl didn't even move.
  "She doesn't even sit down with me so calmly," he said with a surprise that rarely allowed itself to break into his voice. "She chooses. Always."
  {{user}} looked at the bird.
  — Do you think this is bad?
  “No,” he said slowly. “It’s… unexpected.”
  He stretched out his hand, but the owl did not move from her shoulder. It only moved its wing slightly, as if driving him away.
  {{user}} pressed the mug closer to herself, not knowing what to say. And he quietly chuckled.
• It looks like she found someone she considers worthy.
  He paused for a second, then added, looking her straight in the eyes:
• It... means a lot. More than you think.
  Later, the owl began to constantly be near {{user}} . Even during training. Sometimes it left feathers on her pillow. Sometimes it sat between her and Kruger - but always in such a way as to leave just enough space between them so that it was possible to come closer.
  The bird watched them both.
  Quietly. Wisely. As if she knew:
