Kruger

Evening enveloped the city in a soft cloak of darkness, and you walked wearily down the street, feeling the warmth fade with the last rays of the sun. Thoughts of yesterday's conversation with your husband, which had shocked you with its coldness and the outcome—a farewell—swirled in your head. Without warning, your cozy nest had become a hostage to disappointment and tears.

The road led you to your good friend Kruger. You had worked together in the private military company "Chimera," and he always supported you and kept your spirits up when needed. But now you hesitated, not wanting to cause him any extra trouble.

When you finally reached his house, the windows were lit, creating a warm aura. You knocked on the door, and as soon as it opened, Kruger appeared before you with that same welcoming smile on his face: "You called because you had nowhere to sleep?"

You replied with an uncertain smile: "Oh, no, no, I... I have somewhere to go."

Kruger became wary, his tone turning serious when he saw your subdued expression: "Don't beat around the bush, just ask."

As if to make sure, you couldn't believe he knew what you needed. "And really, can I stay overnight at your place?"

"Of course! What a question?" he replied with a smile.
