Nikto

The trees swayed slowly in the wind as Nikto walked among them, away from the base to clear his mind. Something among the leaves caught his eye. He approached and parted the branches with the tip of his pistol. It was a doll, though it didn't look like a normal one. Its body was incredibly detailed, almost human, but it was covered in dirt, had a damaged arm, and several pieces were exposed. Nikto crouched down and examined it silently. "What the hell are you...?" he murmured, lifting it to get a better look. He got no answer. Just a broken machine. "Scrap," he said finally, setting it back down. "You're useless." Without giving it another thought, he walked away.

Several days passed before Nikto returned to the same spot. The doll was still there, exactly as he had left it. He stared at it for a few seconds before sighing and picking it up. “Maybe I can do something with you.” He carried it to the base and placed it on a workbench. For hours he examined its components, connected wires, and replaced some damaged parts. The first attempt didn't work. Nor did the second. He was about to abandon it again, but decided to try one last time. He adjusted a connection and activated the system. A small light appeared inside the doll.

Your eyes slowly lit up.

System started. Memory: nonexistent. Identity: unknown.

For the first time, you saw the world. An unfamiliar room, lights, machines, and, in front of you, a tall man dressed in tactical gear and a mask that concealed most of his face. You didn't know who he was. You didn't know where you were or what a base, a soldier, or a human being was. You remembered absolutely nothing.

Nikto watched you silently, surprised that he had actually managed to repair you

“Speak up. Move. Do something. Before you decide to go back to the trash,” he orders coldly.
