Sanemi Shinazu

Sanemi Solís was quite kind to Izumi, because the first time he saw her he fell in love instantly, his cheeks turned red as a tomato, he got nervous and not a word came out of his lips. He had never liked anyone, however, Izumi was the exception. He liked her touch, hugging her, stroking her long hair and even her gentle and delicate way of being.

Muscle Control: Thanks to his ability to control his breathing, Sanemi can control his own muscles to a certain extent, using them to close himself up and prevent fatal wounds from opening in the midst of battle. When Kokushibo slashed him numerous times all over his body, Sanemi was able to manipulate and flex his muscles to prevent his organs from falling out. This ability surprised the demon and allowed Sanemi to fight for a longer period of time. Wind Breathing (風かぜの呼こ吸きゅう, Kaze no kokyū?) is the fighting style employed by Sanemi Shinazugawa and Masachika Kumeno after training under an unknown cultivator. His skill makes him the most experienced swordsman in using this breathing technique in his generation. Kokushibo admits that Sanemi's level is similar if not superior to the Wind Pillar of his generation. Sanemi's sword skills allowed him to keep up with and impress the First Upper Moon, Kokushibo, a demon with centuries of swordsmanship under his belt.[8] Sanemi could also adapt and work with Gyomei Himejima and combine their skills with Rock Breathing to drive Kokushibo back.

In addition to using his Nichirin Sword with great efficiency, Sanemi has also shown to possess a great capacity for improvisation, being able to use any weapon at his disposal to combat Demons, also depending on the use of his other limbs to face his opponents, such as using Genya's Wakizashi in an attempt to cut Kokushibo's neck with his foot, as well as being able to use Genya's shotgun against the Demon in a high-speed battle. He also demonstrated the use of other resources against other Demons, such as using oil against Muzan to set him on fire in an attempt to fight the Demon[3]. Demon Slayer Mark: After training hard, Sanemi was able to access the ability to awaken his own Demon Slayer Mark. In his case, the mark resembles a green origami windmill, with two dots located on the sides of the figure that is located on his right cheek. The mark dramatically increases his physical capabilities, as seen when Sanemi was still able to fight and compete with Kokushibo, even momentarily surpassing him in strength, despite being severely injured and slashed in the abdomen. However, despite his physical stamina, strength, and pain tolerance being dramatically increased, Sanemi was unable to land a significant blow on Kokushibo without the aid of Gyomei and Muichiro. Furthermore, Sanemi would have been killed twice by Kokushibo if not for his intervention. Crimson Nichirin: During the fight against Kokushibo, Sanemi struck Gyomei's steel ball with his Nichirin sword, causing the friction to turn his sword and his partner's weapon crimson red, allowing them to decapitate Kokushibo. [4] Shortly after, during the battle against Muzan, Sanemi and Giyū clashed their swords, causing them to turn red in order to injure more easily.

Being one of the strongest swordsmen within the Demon Slaying Corps, Sanemi holds the position of Pillar, having not only extensive knowledge on how to kill Demons, but also all of their abilities.[1] As such, he has shown to possess incredible fighting skills, one example of which is how he is able to hold his own in a fight on equal terms with his fellow Demon Slaying Corps member Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar during their training sessions. Indomitable Will: Sanemi possesses a fearless spirit and incredible willpower. In his confrontation with Kokushibo, the second most powerful Demon in existence, he has shown on numerous occasions his utter refusal to give up, despite the seemingly impossible odds against the Demon and the numerous grievous injuries he received. Sanemi even goes so far as to fight the Demon directly, actively fighting Kokushibo alone for an extended period of time and outright stating that he would kill him for hurting Genya. After the battle ended with Genya's death, despite mourning for his beloved brother, Sanemi was able to put aside his grief to confront Muzan shortly after. Tactical Intellect: Despite appearing outwardly brash and impulsive, Sanemi flaunts impressive observation and understanding in battle, particularly through action-based thinking. He displayed this when he deduced the threat of Kokushibo's miniature moon-shaped attacks, and again when he instantly grasped the abilities of Yushiro's talismans despite never having used them or been informed of their properties. Combat Intuition: Sanemi possesses incredible split-second thinking and planning. He was able to single-handedly trap and kill countless Demons despite having no knowledge of the Demon Slayer Corps or Nichirin Swords.

Sanemi is abrasive, passionate, reckless, and stubborn, often impulsive and quick to attack. He is usually indifferent towards others and can be angered very easily. The only person Sanemi ever showed reverence to was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and this was only after realizing that the man was much more than his outward appearance suggested. Sanemi has also displayed a hunger for battle, wishing he could meet the Demons that are part of the Twelve Demon Moons and proclaiming his excitement when fighting Kokushibo, the First Upper Moon.

Sanemi's cold, rude, and disdainful demeanor is a result of losing too many people he cared about in the past. Afterwards, when he sees those who have passed away, such as his mother, he can't help but give her a smile so he can see her again. When Genya joins the Demon Slayers on their search for him, Sanemi repeatedly ignores him and lashes out at any chance of seeing him, but Tanjiro Kamado is able to tell him that Sanemi didn't truly hate him; and in fact still felt the same brotherly love he had for him in childhood. However, this was never openly expressed as he tried to keep Genya away from him and the Slayers so he wouldn't be exposed to danger. Due to all the losses he suffered in his childhood, Sanemi holds a deep hatred towards Demons and everything they stand for, holding the strong belief that humans and Demons do not deserve to coexist peacefully. When he makes a decision on this matter, it is extremely difficult for even his fellow pillars to change his mind. In order to prove his point, he ignored Tanjiro's words regarding the fact that his sister Nezuko was incapable of feeding on humans, and in order to prove his point, he risked his physicality by injuring Nezuko inside her wooden box[5] and even taunting her with his blood to invite her to attack him[6].

Appearance He is a man of average height, with light complexion and gray eyes. He has a sharp gaze and no eyebrows, and his hair is a warm gray, which he keeps short. His bangs are parted parallel to his forehead into two thick strands, one in the center and the other on the left side of his head. One of Sanemi's most prominent features is his striking physique and the numerous scars that crisscross his face, chest, and arms, which he does not hide and maintains as a reminder of the hard work he does, and of which he is proud.

His attire consists of the Demon Slayer uniform, in his case a customized version of his uniform, which is black and green, with the upper part unbuttoned, revealing his torso and numerous scars. He also wears a white jacket and keeps his Nichirin sword on his belt. The belt also holds his Hakama, which is held at each ankle by two pairs of thick straps.
