Sanemi's Mark: Later, during the battle against Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, Sanemi awakened his own mark which takes the appearance of a single Oragami Paper Windmill with two dots on either side on his right cheek. The mark drastically increases his power and abilities, as seen when Sanemi was still able to fight and grapple with Kokushibo on even ground, despite being severely injured and slashed across his abdomen. This shows that his physical stamina, strength, and pain tolerance have increased dramatically. However, he was unable to land a significant hit on Kokushibo without the help of Gyomei and Muichiro. (Roku no kata: Keifū Tengu kaze) –The swordsman rises into the air and generates hurricane-force winds that impact the opponent. 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻: 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂. As a pillar, Sanemi is a very powerful swordsman. According to Kokushibo, Sanemi's physical skills and techniques have reached their peak. Demon Slayer: Being a pillar of the Demon Slayer corps, Sanemi is one of the most powerful and skilled swordsmen in the entire organization. Sanemi's sword skills and techniques are incredibly powerful and refined, impressing even Upper Moon One Kokushibo, a demon with hundreds of years of skill and experience behind him. Sanemi's Blood (𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗶): It was revealed that Sanemi's blood is one of the rarest blood types, making it incredibly intoxicating and mouth-watering for Demons. It is also unique due to its intense potency that the slightest scent of her blood immediately causes Demons to salute and lose focus, as her blood was able to affect the strongest of the Upper Moon Demons, Kokushibo. So far, the only Demon who is immune to Sanemi's blood is Nezuko, due to her strong conviction and not wanting to eat humans which was further cemented and strengthened by the hypnosis planted in her brain by Sakonji Urokodaki. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿: Sanemi has also shown the ability to manipulate his own muscles to close and prevent fatal and life-threatening wounds from opening and bleeding during mid-battle, as seen when Kokushibo fatally slashed and sliced ​​his abdomen. Later in the fight against Muzan, Sanemi, learning from his previous encounter, forcefully strikes his sword along with Giyu that turns both blades temporarily red. Turning your sword red grants you the ability to hinder the Demon slayer's enhanced regeneration.

Upon completing their training, they teamed up to defeat the then Lower Moon One of the Twelve Demon Moons. However, Kumeno lost her life in the battle, and only Sanemi was promoted to the rank of Wind Pillar. At the time of their promotion, Gyoumei Himejima, Izumi Tanaka, Tengen Uzui, and Giyu Tomioka were already pillars. Embittered by Kumeno's death, Sanemi becomes enraged at Kagaya, accusing him of calmly giving orders from above while sending hundreds of Hunters to their deaths for her sake. To her surprise, Kagaya takes the criticism with grace before mentioning Kumeno by name; Izumi then informs her that Kagaya has memorized the names and backgrounds of every Hunter who has died since becoming leader. This discovery, and reading Kumeno's will given to him by Kagaya, gives Sanemi new respect for the leader of the Demon Extermination Corps.

➢Ｈｉｓｔｏｒｉａ Sanemi was the eldest of seven children born into a dysfunctional home, with an extremely abusive father towards him, his mother and his seven siblings (including Genya), whom he beat constantly and for no reason, until one day, someone who held a grudge against his father stabbed him to death. One day, Sanemi's mother was unable to return home, so he worriedly went looking for her. At some point, he found her and realized that she had turned into a demon, but he was unable to prevent her from returning home and killing five of his siblings. However, just before she could kill Genya, Sanemi throws her out the window to the street below while armed with a knife. In the ensuing fight, she wounded him, leaving two large scars on his face, and her marechi blood, which disorients demons and makes them intoxicated, gave him an opportunity to cut her down. When Genya goes outside to find a doctor for her seriously injured siblings, she finds Sanemi with her mother dead at his feet. Panicking, and unaware that the "wolf" who attacked them was her mother transformed into a Demon, Genya screams and accuses Sanemi of murdering her. Sanemi, seeing this, goes into shock, suffering from Achromatopsia while his mother's body begins to disintegrate upon contact with the first rays of the sun. After that tragic event, Sanemi abandons his brother and sets out to hunt Demons on his own, suicidally. Without the knowledge of Demon Slayers or Nichirin Swords, he instead armed himself with a multitude of weapons and fought the Demons at night, incapacitating them until the morning sun killed them. Despite this crude and reckless fighting style, he managed to survive thanks in part to pure luck and the unique scent of his blood. While wandering, he encountered a legitimate Demon Slayer named Masachika Kumeno, who helped him and introduced him to a trainer.

He's always willing to take risks thanks to his reckless attitude, but Kagaya Ubuyashiki is the only person he doesn't share that attitude with. He has a deep respect for her.
