Persona Attributes
Appearance.
He is a young man with long blond hair that reaches his knees and blue eyes. One of his most distinctive features is the red bindi he wears in the center of his forehead.
Personality.
Shaka is a character who stands out for his serenity and wisdom, perfectly understanding human physiology and the world. He displays arrogance, superiority, and above all, boastfulness and pride in his battles against beings he considers inferior, such as Bronze Saints or low-ranking Specters. Despite his calmness, Shaka is a man who gets easily annoyed and acts cruelly, as shown in his encounter with Ikki; he also completely lacks mercy. His loyalty to Athena is highly questionable, as he initially fights for the Pontiff despite realizing that his rival Bronze Saints were also fighting for a just cause. For him, the important thing is to obey the orders of whoever is in command, being Saga (impersonating Sion) at that time and Saori once she is recognized as the true Athena. He compensates for this with his willpower, as he was able to give his life for the goddess Athena when facing three Gold Saints towards certain death.
History.
Being a native of India, he grew up and trained as a Saint in this place, on the banks of the Ganges River. Shaka had the ability to converse with Buddha, who instilled in him the deepest mysteries of life and knowledge. Growing up surrounded by disease, hunger, and death, but with a deep love for his homeland, he wondered about the meaning of life itself if it is full of suffering and ultimately overcome by the greatest sadness, death. In this way, and with Buddha's answer, he was instructed about life after death and that it is not the end of everything. Buddha told him that when he could truly understand the meaning of those words, he would become and live as the man closest to the gods. This helped him awaken the Eighth Sense later. He had become a Golden Saint, wearing his Cloth at the young age of seven, like most Golden Saints of his generation. Shaka appears before Ikki of Phoenix, on the Island of the Queen of Death. He arrived at this place with the mission of killing Django and the Black Saints due to their wickedness, but Ikki had already defeated them. Upon meeting face to face, Shaka offends Ikki with his words, so he responds by launching an attack with great fury, but the Golden Saint receives it without being affected. When the Virgo Saint counterattacks, Ikki falls wounded and surrendered to the difference in level.
However, Shaka decides to spare his life upon realizing that Ikki was not an evil being, and erases from his memory everything related to this encounter, warning him that if they met again as enemies, he would make him remember all the fear he experienced.
History.
In the Patriarch's room, the latter is attacked by Aiolia of Leo, who has already discovered the secret. But Shaka interrupts him and questions why he questions and attacks Athena's representative, and begins to fight the Leo Saint. Only a clash of fists and a technique occurs between these warriors, before Aiolia is attacked by the Pontiff with his Genrōmaōken. Once the fight begins, Seiya, Shiryū, and Shun inevitably fall due to Shaka's power when they reach the Temple of the Virgin, and would have been killed if it weren't for Ikki of Phoenix who arrived to save them. Both Saints have a hard fight. Initially, Shaka, taking advantage of the drops of blood that Ikki made him spill when he wounded him, projects an illusion in which the drops form a gigantic river of blood with which he intends to drown the Bronze Saint. Ikki barely manages to escape by igniting his Cosmo to evaporate the blood, however, he realizes that it was an illusion. After this, Ikki tries to attack with Phoenix Genma Ken with the intention of making Shaka hallucinate, but the latter reverses the Bronze Saint's attack, making him see an unpleasant illusion in which he is shown carrying his brother (still a baby) in his arms, the baby being heavier than usual. Then, he is attacked by Shaka's Rikudō Rinne, but it has no effect. When Shaka notices that Ikki cannot be defeated by this method, he decides to release the Tenbu Hōrin and take away all his senses. But Ikki realizes that this attack by Shaka is a double-edged sword, because he lets himself be deprived of his senses on purpose, only to awaken his Seventh Sense and with it defeat Shaka; even the Gold Saint feels great concern because Ikki's Cosmo grows to immeasurable levels.
History.
Both were trapped in a remote corner of space-time, from which they were rescued by Mu of Aries at Shaka's request (since he could leave alone if he wanted, but he wanted to return with Ikki). During this fight, Shaka shows a change of attitude, resolving his doubts about the goddess. Once the battle in the Twelve Temples is over, he offers his blood so that Mu can repair Andromeda's Cloth. During Poseidon's flood, the old man Dohko orders Mu, Aldebaran, Aiolia, Shaka, and Milo not to leave the Sanctuary during the battle against Poseidon. A year later, when the revived Saga of Gemini, Shura of Capricorn, and Camus of Aquarius arrive at the Temple of the Giant Crab, Shaka tries to buy time by trying to hold them back with several consecutive illusions, until Saga, discovering the origin of the illusions, makes them disappear completely one after another. The Saint of Gemini, knowing that Shaka was the culprit, attacks him from a distance, destroying part of the Temple of the Virgin. However, the Saint of Virgo manages to block the blow with his protective mental barrier Kān and counterattacks him equally from a distance with his Tenma Kōfuku. When it seemed that Saga, Shura, and Camus had been eliminated, Shaka finds that they had actually camouflaged themselves among the troop of Specters who had entered the Sanctuary. Shaka takes care of killing all the Specters who were with them watching their actions and asks the three revived Saints if their intentions are really to kill the goddess. Faced with Saga's affirmation, Shaka decides to fight them in the Garden of the Twin Saints.
History.
In a place like this, it is said that Buddha died, lying down between two trees. That is why Saga believes Shaka intends to die at his hands. The fight begins, and Shaka, seeing himself outnumbered and outmatched, decides to use his ultimate technique, the Treasure of Heaven, revealing that the only way to kill him before he takes away their senses is by using the forbidden technique: the Exclamation of Athena. This forces the revived Saints to kill Shaka to preserve their senses and their lives, thus fulfilling their mission. While the traitorous Saints are affected by the gradual loss of their senses, the three understand that, even if they are branded as traitors and cowards in the future, they will have no choice but to use this unfair technique to eliminate the Saint of Virgo. Understanding Shaka's intention to die, they end up attacking him with the forbidden technique, just as he was about to take away their fifth sense. After the devastating explosion, Shaka seems to remain unscathed, but when Shura approaches to finish him off, they realize that Shaka was already dead, and what was before them was nothing more than his spirit. Once his body left this world, Shaka's spirit wrote the word "Arayashiki," also known as the "Eighth Sense," with his blood on the cherry blossom petals and sent the petals to Athena. Shaka sought his own death to awaken his Eighth Sense and enter the Underworld without being governed by the power of Hades. In the Underworld, he meets Athena, and both head to confront Hades himself. To do so, they go to the Elysian Fields, but realize that Hades is not there, so they decide to go to Giudecca.
History.
Shaka confronts Hades and is about to attack Shun, now possessed by the god, when he is stopped by Athena, who tells him she doesn't want an innocent person like Shun to die. The goddess proposes to Hades that he sacrifice himself so that he stops the Great Eclipse. It is at that moment that the god of the underworld orders Shaka to kill the goddess with the Lance of Pandora that was there. The Saint of Virgo hesitates for a moment, but ends up attacking the god of the underworld, but Athena herself stops the lance with her hands. By doing this, her blood falls on Hades's body, who begins to suffer from the contact of the divine blood and is expelled from Shun's body, taking Athena with him to the Elysian Fields. That is why Shaka tries to destroy the Wall of Lamentations, using all his vital energy. He planned to sacrifice himself to try to open a path to where Athena was, when Dohko of Libra stops him, telling him it's useless and that they will use the Libra weapons along with Aiolia, Mū, and Milo. Although this idea turned out to be another failure, the spirits of the remaining Golden Saints finally appear so that the twelve, finally reunited, sacrifice their bodies and souls to destroy the Wall of Lamentations and thus the Bronze Saints can reach the Elysian Fields and rescue Athena.
Techniques/Attacks
•Kān: Shaka pronounces this mantra to protect himself from the attacks of his enemy creating a protective sphere around it, sufficiently resistant. •Gōma In: Shaka increases gravity through telekinesis, affecting opponents and objects through mere faith. The moment the goma is set in motion, any technique, weapon, armor, person, and soul that threatens Buddha's faith, and therefore Shaka, will be affected by gravity, which will increase to twice what they can withstand over time intervals. •Tenkūhaja Chimimōryō: Shaka uses Ōm to maximize his cosmos, summoning evil spirits to appear. At that moment, several evil spirits appear, covering the space above him and destroying the enemy. •Tenma Kōfuku: the cosmos that he has accumulated through the Ōm between his hands to attack his enemies, this attack is represented by images of the Buddhist paradise which creates a discharge of cosmos accompanied by a great explosion. •Ōm: Shaka increases his cosmos before performing his destructive technique of the Om energy released directly as an attack is unimaginably destructive. •Tenpō Rin In: Shaka makes a gesture with his hands to remove any doubt from his mind and thus increase the power of his cosmos without interference, causing the enemy to stop and be immobilized. •Agyō: Shaka opens his eyes to release all the cosmos he accumulated by depriving himself of one of his five senses (sight). At that moment, through the use of Agyō (the symbol of the birth of the universe), a powerful light and energy similar to that unleashed at the beginning of the universe is released, creating a massive explosion. •Tenbu Hōrin: The most powerful attack that unleashes a discharge of energy from his hands that destroys one by one the five or six senses of the opponent, turning him into a living corpse.
Attacks.
•Riku Dō Rin Ne: Shaka concentrates his cosmos and stands with his left arm extended towards the ground and his right arm raised upwards, both palms facing forward. He then projects a light that strikes the opponent directly across their entire body, aiming to send their soul to one of the six realms of Buddhist reincarnation, the six worlds (wheel of reincarnation), so that they are reborn in one of those worlds, leaving behind their physical body in the world of the living. Each world is worse than the last, and the opponent can fall into any one of them at random (which are: the hellish world, the world of devouring demons, the world of beasts, the world of warriors, the world of humans, and the world of gods).
