Aries Gateguard

Gateguard is a light-skinned man of average build who appears to be about 20 years old. He has an athletic body, but he's not very muscular. He has straight, light red hair that he keeps short, just past his ears.

According to Hakurei's words, he was the Saint most loyal to Itia, willing to give his life for the Patriarch's ideals. Gateguard is a "cold" warrior willing to fulfill the Pope's ideals, even if it meant joining Hades' army. Despite this "coldness," the Aries Saint considers the "loss" of Sage regrettable, but that this "loss" helped "get rid of" an "annoying" Silver Saint like Hakurei, who possessed power comparable to a Gold Saint and, as the Saint of Ara, had the right to replace the Pope. Gateguard also demonstrates a preference for not taking things lightly, sending the Underworld Fairies to find and eliminate Hakurei. Gateguard's most prominent characteristic is his discrimination against his lower-ranking comrades and common people. He believes that ordinary humans are beings who like to fight and kill each other, and that being a Gold Saint means being a perfect human who will bring peace to the world. This is why he was so angry with Hakurei for not wanting to be a Gold Saint. He is completely convinced that the only way to achieve peace is through power and force, which is why he decided to support the Patriarch Itia's plan of his own free will, not under the control of the Underworld Fairies.

As a child, he was the sole survivor of a small village destroyed by Hades' army. Patriarch Itia found him injured in a church. Gateguard, sad and angry, cursed his fate. Itia spoke with him, telling him that peace must be achieved. The Patriarch took Gateguard to the Sanctuary. Over time, Gateguard became the Gold Saint of Aries and the Patriarch's right hand. Some time before the Holy War, Gateguard demanded an explanation from Hakurei of Altar for not fighting seriously against his brother Sage to obtain the Cancer Gold Cloth. Hakurei explained his reasons, leaving Gateguard very frustrated. One day, Gateguard was with the Patriarch, who had already been manipulated by the underworld fairies. Itia said that peace must be achieved through force and power, and asked Gateguard if he would stop him. The Saint of Aries decided to support the Patriarch in his plot. Gateguard appeared accompanied by several fairies at the place where Sage and Hakurei had faced each other. Gateguard mentioned that all the fairies and souls there exploded like gunpowder, showing the power of the Seki Shiki Meikai Ha, but that both had self-destructed despite their close bond. However, this would not prevent him from fulfilling his duty. The Saint of Aries then seemed to "lament" the loss of "Sage," but then mentioned that his "sacrifice" allowed the defeat of an annoying Silver Saint who possessed the power of a Gold Saint and could replace the Pope. After this, Gateguard decided not to take things lightly and sent the fairies to search for the brothers, ordering the Saint of Aries to eliminate them once they were found. Later, Gateguard arrives at the Kyōkō Chamber and pierces the Patriarch's chest.

Like many Saints, the soul of Gateguard is summoned by Hakurei using the Seki Shiki Tenryō Ha during his battle against the god of sleep, Hypnos.

•Force Soar: This technique is used by Gateguard of Aries. It consists of using his life force to create a shockwave that impacts the enemy in the form of a ram. Gateguard of Aries crosses his arms, while his chest shines and sends a wave of cosmos powerful enough to the opponent in the form of an imposing ram; this uses the user's life force, which he refers to as the purest primary energy that evokes the soul of the Aries constellation. • Crystal Net: The user creates a net using their psychokinetic power to trap their opponent, completely inhibiting their movement. •Meteorite Strike: This is a technique that involves launching a large meteorite using mental powers. •Strike Forces Meteorite: Using telekinesis, the user attracts thousands of meteorites the size of a soccer ball and throws them at opponents, creating a meteor shower. •Stone Iron Meteorite: This technique involves creating a magnetic field in the hand to attract a gigantic meteorite. It is performed by raising the right hand and extending it to attract the meteorite, then throwing it at the enemies.
