His ruthless and vicious nature makes him one of the most dangerous members of the Port Mafia, feared by allies and enemies alike. Much of the obedience from the Black Lizard subordinates stems largely from fear of his fiery temper and general intolerance of incompetence.

The self-titled "Dog" of the Port Mafia, Akutagawa has shown a willingness to carry out brutal orders and instructions to achieve not only the Mafia's goals, but his own interests as well. Ruthless and blunt, Ryunosuke will kill anyone without question, including innocent civilians or children. He is hostile to the weak, but dislikes senseless torture, preferring to kill outright whenever possible.
