the amulet of daylight

It is a compact, circular, metal amulet which essentially looks like a small, trollish-gothic-styled clock. All of its metal framework is built around a round, flat, crystal-blue gem called the Daylight stone. When the Triumbric Stones are inserted into the amulet, the gemstone inside glows a deep red. When Jim was controlled by King Arthur/The Green Knight after he was corrupted into a troll, the gemstone glowed yellow.

Its external frame features beveled-in lines and the amulet’s incantation, which is inscribed around the edge of the frame. The edge of the frame also has two tiny metal sculptures of what appears to be a dragon and a troll.

Inside the frame are two thin metal rings and a tiny arm which holds a disc, which spin around the edge of the amulet when it is activated. There is another small disc with a troll face carved in it, along with two metal “arms” which spin around the center of the amulet. One of those arms is a trident shape and the other is a knife-like shape.

The back of the amulet has six flaps which can hinge open to reveal six slots for gemstones to be inserted, which can give the amulet additional Power. For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command!” ―Incantation for the Daylight Armor.Armor/Sword Summoning: When the amulet is activated, it grants the user the Trollhunter Armor and the Sword of Daylight. The amulet can be ripped off its wearer or knocked off by excessive force. Adjusting: The amulet, as well as its armor and sword, will alter themselves to their user's proportions. When Jim first activated the armor and sword, they were set to the size of Kanjigar, its previous owner, before shrinking to fit Jim. Furthermore, if the wearer's size has been unnaturally altered, such as through a Furgolator, the amulet can change itself to match this size, which Jim used to fight Chompsky after the gnome had disarmed him.

daylight armor

The Trollhunter Armor was a silver suit of knight's armor consisting of a chestplate, two shoulder pads (one bigger than the other), a pair of leggings, knee braces, boots, clamps, had blue glowing trimmings around in it, a black inner layer underneath the armor and the Amulet of Daylight was connected on the left side of the chestplate. Summoning: The armor magically attached itself to the warrior when activated by the Amulet of Daylight. Sword of Daylight Conjuring: The Trollhunter Armor also allows the wearer to summon the Sword of Daylight, or just Daylight, whenever they wish to. Weapon Conjuring: After the Amulet was upgraded with the Birthstone and the Killstone, the armor gained the ability to summon two boomerang-like daggers known as Glaives and a large warrior shield. When the Eye of Gunmar was added to the Amulet, the armor gained the ability to summon a helmet that can protect the wearer from the evil influence of the Decimaar Blade of Gunmar and other injuries. Enhanced Durability: Like the Sword of Daylight, the armor was made of pure sunlight, providing additional protection against the Trolls. Enhanced Strength: The armor also provided the warrior extra strength. Enhanced Speed: The armor can greatly enhance the speed and agility of the wearer Limited Force Field: The armor also produced a brief force field around the warrior to protect them from too much harm.Lack of Sunlight Protection: Although the armor was made of pure sunlight and didn't hurt the Trollhunter himself, the armor could not protect the warrior from natural sunlight (only if the chosen warrior is a troll). Exhaustion: Due to great exhaustion, various armor abilities cannot be used or can only be used partial.

Daylight

Summoning: Daylight appeared with the Trollhunter Armor when the Amulet was activated by the user and recognized the Trollhunter as its unique owner, being able to be called to his/her hands in spite of being separated. Cutting: Daylight had a wide blade that had extraordinary cutting power as Jim once accidentally stabbed it into a boulder[1] and later clopped off a fire hydrant.[2] It could also cut a large truck in half with just one swift strike.[3] It was capable of destroying a troll with just one stroke. Light Aura: The sword's glow was painful to trolls, as both Bular and Strickler flinched upon having it drawn in their faces, it also has the ability to emit a small but powerful wave of light when slammed in the ground as seen in "Roaming Fees May Apply". Sword Beam Emission: Shown once in "The Battle of Two Bridges", Jim created a huge beam of light while he struck his sword into Bular, enough to cause him to crumble to stone half-dead.[4] Later, Jim fired a sword-beam from the blade while saving Claire from a Blood Goblin.[5] The cutting power of these beams was questionable, as it was seen dispersing when it struck the wooden crates behind it. Barrier Generation: The sword was able to create a barrier strong enough to refract an incoming tidal wave[6] and Morgana's magic blast.[7] Resizing: The sword was also capable of resizing itself to fit its master's size, as it shrank to Jim's preferred balance from that of its previous master, Kanjigar.[1]Incapable of Killing Immortals: Despite its powerful magic, the sword (and possibly the Trollhunter's other weaponry) were unable to kill wizards like Morgana, since they were meant only to hunt trolls.[7] Unable to Kill Gunmar: As proclaimed by Kanjigar himself, Jim's sword fought against Gunmar many times in the past, but it never killed him. Daylight was built specifically to protect and maintain the balance of the human and troll worlds. It a steel-grey broad-bladed sword with a tint of blue on it.

shadow staff

The Shadow Staff is a white, curved staff with purple-and-blue tints, resembling quartz crystal, and a hooked end (resembling a lobster claw) and a metal handgrip (which is its portable form).

When active through negative emotions, the staff turns completely black.

The staff can be shrunk into the handgrip for easier portability and storage.Shadow Portals: The Shadow Staff utilizes the emotions of its user to open inter-dimensional shadow portals through the Shadow Realm, a dark plane of chaos - devoid of light or reason. When being used, the staff turns completely black and the staff's portals could connect very distant places for rapid transport. In the case the user does not know where their destination is, they can not open a portal unless they have an individual with whom the user possesses some emotional link so that it acts as an "emotional anchor". Shadow Portal Suction Spell: With this spell, it creates a portal that causes everything to be sucked into the Shadow Realm. Incantation: Drooma katorth-a myntarth-a klar Shadow Generation: The staff can also create a shadow over the user, allowing trolls to walk through sunlight. Portable Form: The staff can retract into a pocket-sized stick. Shadow Staff Reclaiming/Controlling Spell: With this spell, the Shadow Staff can be controlled and/or reclaimed if the user ever loses possession of it. Incantation: Azazazuth-Kinekh-Thoon

Shadow staff limitations

because the Shadow Staff is powered by emotion, it takes a toll on the user ―Marc Guggenheim, Executive Producer[src] Incapable of Dimensional Travel: Even so, the staff's portals are not able to cross between dimensions (minus the Shadow Realm), since Blinky affirmed that it could not be used to enter the Darklands. Exhaustion: As mentioned by Claire, since the staff is powered by negative emotions (such as anger and fear), creating several portals at once takes a toll on her and exhausts her energy. However, after mastering her emotions, she was able to make as many portals as she wanted without much strain. Corruption: Excessive use of staff's power can cause the user to be corrupted by its dark magic and become possessed by the spirit of its original creator, Morgana. This happened to Claire at the end of Part Two, after she created a giant portal to rescue most of the inhabitants of Heartstone Trollmarket when Gunmar takes it over. It could also potentially kill the user nonetheless.

Emotional Trigger: The amulet responds to its wearer's emotions, as seen by it activating when the user is stressed and deactivating when the user returns to a normal emotional state. Blinky notes that the amulet's effects will differ for Jim, due to his human physiology. With time, the amulet will respond to its wearer's desires as well, allowing the Trollhunter to manipulate the armor anyway it desires. After Jim's transformation into a half-troll, he was unable to remove the amulet from his armor, as shown is "Jimhunters". However, according to one of the show's writers, this is because Jim is going through such massive emotional turmoil, and the amulet has locked him in his armor and is trying to protect him. Until he ever calms down, the amulet would behave normally again. Magiportation (limited): The amulet will return to its user if discarded, as Jim attempted to do in "Wherefore Art Thou, Trollhunter?" since it is now permanently bonded to him. However, if the amulet is stolen, as Gnome Chompsky managed to do in the following episode, it will not return. This caveat can be circumvented in times of mortal danger like when Jim, besieged in the woods and defending Claire, managed to call to the amulet, which escaped Stricklander's clutches in the museum and flew to its master's aid. Gemstone Storage/Upgrading: Additionally, the amulet can be opened and upgraded with special stones. The specific abilities of each stone are different, but certain combinations of stones will result in upgrades to the armor's functionalities, including different weapons, self-duplication or the capability to walk on walls.

Glaive Conjuring: With the Birthstone, Jim gains the ability to summon two glaives, which act a lot like boomerangs and respond to his command. Shield Conjuring: With the Killstone, Jim gains the ability to summon a warrior's shield on his left forearm, which protects him from most attacks. Helmet Conjuring: With the Eye of Gunmar, Jim gains the ability to summon a large helmet, which protects him from lethal damage and Gunmar's Decimaar Blade. He can also open and close it with his thoughts. Eclipse Armor/Blade Summoning: When all three Triumbric Stones (the Birthstone, Killstone, and Gunmar's Eye) are placed in the amulet, the armor changes to a black/red color scheme, and the Eclipse Armor and the Sword of Eclipse become available. This sword is the only known weapon capable of permanently killing Gunmar. translator: The amulet is capable of translating Trollspeak to English and vice versa. Supernatural Detection: The amulet is able to help the Trollhunter detect potential danger in their area. However, for Jim (most likely due to his human status), this ability is usually unpredictable and/or not as reliable. As revealed in "Hero with a Thousand Faces", the amulet was once used by Hunter Jim to literally scan certain areas which would alert him of any potential foes. Opening/Rebuilding the Killahead Bridge: The amulet can be used—only by the Trollhunter—to open the Killahead Bridge’s portal into the Darklands. Additionally, it has the power to reassemble the bridge if it has been destroyed. Temporal Protection: Most uniquely, when Porgon the Trickster combined his magic with Akiridion technology to reset time, the amulet protected Jim's memories, enabling to him to retain awareness within the time loop. Calling for a New Successor: Should the Trollhunter ever fall in battle, the amulet will speak in the voice of the fallen Trollhunter, calling out to its new master should they be nearby.

Jim

Jim is about 5 feet 6 inches tall[3] with a slim build. By his own admission[4] and Krel,[5] he has skinny legs. He has blue eyes and short black hair. After regaining his human form at the end of Wizards, Jim now has two scars on his face, one on his left cheek (originating from his fight during Angor Rot and Gunmar) and one over his right eyebrow (which was the result of AAARRRGGHH!!! trying to subdue him in his corrupted beast form). He later loses his scars after the end of the Trollhunters movie.

Unarmored, Jim wears a blue zip-up jacket with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a white shirt underneath. He has blue jeans with a black belt and high-top blue and white sneakers. While hunting down Skrael's titan in Greenland, he wears a heavy blue/indigo jacket with a hood.

While using the Amulet of Daylight, Jim's armor was a silver suit of knight's armor, complete with a breastplate (the chest area), pauldrons (the shoulder areas), vambraces (the forearm areas), gauntlets (the hand areas), cuisses (the thigh areas), poleyns (the knee areas), greaves (the leg areas), and sabatons (the feet areas), and the amulet in the middle of Jim's heart with blue trimmings. Underneath the armor, there was a black inner layer.

While wielding the Eclipse Blade, this armor was black with red trimmings. Both armors had their respective amulets mounted on the left side of the breastplates, and occasionally their swords (Daylight and Eclipse) were stowed on the backs of the armors. he is intelligence, strong sense of responsibility, kindness, and fierce loyalty to his friends and family, making him a heroic but sometimes self-sacrificing figure. He is initially depicted as a somewhat socially awkward but caring teenager who takes on a caretaker role for his mother. As the Trollhunter, he grows into a brave, determined, and selfless leader who often attempts to handle dangers alone.

Claire

blend of kindness, sharp intelligence, loyalty, and a feisty, stubborn streak, complemented by her artistic interests in theater and music. She is deeply caring and protective, especially of her family, and possesses a strong sense of independence and a down-to-earth nature. While often joyful and sarcastic, she can also be impatient and irritable when annoyed. Her growth throughout the series demonstrates her growing bravery, magical aptitude, and strategic thinking as she takes on increasingly complex challenges. Claire is a highly intelligent and observant character, quick to understand complex situations, such as the secrets of the troll world, and possessing a deep curiosity. She is a compassionate and loving person, particularly evident in her dedication to her family, especially her brother, and her deep affection for Jim. Despite her kind nature, Claire has a strong, rebellious streak and can be fiercely determined, sometimes to the point of being stubborn or irritable. Claire is a fiercely loyal friend and ally to Jim and her other friends, consistently supporting them through their adventures. She has a strong appreciation for the arts, including theater and poetry, which was a core part of her identity before she became involved with the troll world. Protective Drive: Her desire to protect her family and friends, especially Jim, motivates many of her actions and decisions. Dealing with Trauma: She displays trauma, shown by her emotional struggles after her brother is taken and her own corruption by the Shadow Staff. She wears a light purple turtleneck shirt with a darker pink skull and the word "HAMLET" under a short dark purple jacket, a short blue skirt, gray leggings with black low heel booties and a lot of colorful barrettes in her hair. Her nails are always painted dark pink. She got rid of her barrettes by the time of Wizards, and her nails are no longer painted.Claire is a very cute, pretty and rather attractive young lady.

toby

Toby is a short (approximately 5 feet 0 inches[2]), chubby boy with orange-red brown hair and green eyes.

He wears a red diamond-patterned sweater vest over a yellow and orange button-up shirt, brown pants, and white shoes. For all of the series, he wears braces.Loyal: Toby is fiercely loyal to his friends, especially Jim, supporting him through thick and thin. Optimistic: He offers boundless optimism and maintains a cheerful demeanor, even in the face of danger. Supportive: Toby is a constant moral support, helping Jim through dejection and keeping him in check when he goes to extremes. Brave and Adventurous: He embraces the secret world of trolls and is always ready to join Jim on his quests. Humorous: He uses well-timed jokes to lighten the mood when things get rough. Negative Traits & Flaws Attention-Seeking: Toby sometimes seeks recognition, which can manifest as an excessive desire to become a "duke" or create a fan film. Emotional & Dramatic: He is an emotional character who can be quite dramatic. Jealousy: He has shown jealousy, particularly towards Claire when she gained the Shadow Staff, leading to obnoxious behavior before he apologizes. Overconfident & Clumsy: He can be overconfident and clumsy, though his intentions are usually good. Key Characteristics Best Friend to Jim: His bond with Jim Lake Jr. is a central aspect of his character. Embraces the Troll World: He fully accepts and thrives in the world of trolls, unlike many other humans. Loves Food and Cats: He has a notable love for food and owns a large collection of cats. Uses a Warhammer

Blinky

Blinky is a greenish-blue troll with four arms, blue hair, and a set of short horns on the back of his head. He has three brown eyes on either side of his long orange nose, and patterns on his chin, arms, and chest. He wears brown shorts with suspenders and satchels. Blinky is a scholarly troll, well versed in troll lore, history, and magic, and can be quite eccentric. He strives to be a good mentor and friend and has a keen interest in learning something new. He has a warm and strong regard to those he cares for and does all he can to aid them, and this is especially so when he became a mentor to Jim Lake Jr., the first human to ever wear the mantle and responsibility of the Trollhunter.

He can come off occasionally as pompous due to his intellectual mindset, and can sometimes make absent-minded mistakes, but always means well. During his time as a human, Blinky was easily amazed by the "wonders" of the human world during the day, though his constant curiosity often made him look weird. He even admits that he's come to better understand humans during his time as a human himself, like love.

Otherwise, Blinky is wiser than he seems, able to inspire Jim not only to embrace his new role as the Trollhunter but to use that same inspiration to land the part of Romeo in his school play. He is evidently more open-minded than most trolls as he believed that Jim (a human) could (and did) become a worthy Trollhunter, despite the many twists and turns their journey together took.

AAARRRGGHH!!!

AAARRRGGHH!!! is a fun-loving, loyal, friendly, and gentle giant, who has a tragic history from childhood. When he was taken by the Gumm-Gumms at a tender age, his speech was permanently impaired and doesn't speak as elegantly as the other Krubera trolls. He sometimes does not understand big words and often gets confused by Blinky's large vocabulary. AAARRRGGHH!!! is a very large Krubera troll with rock-like gray skin, green eyes, and a dark green beard and hair on his shoulders, back and chest. He has four short horns and a large black nose, a small tail, and engravings on his arms, knees, waist and chest.

When AAARRRGGHH!!! is overcome with anger or he is in an uncontrollable rage, the engravings on his skin light up with a green glow, similar to the Krubera's blue, and his eyes turn completely black with glowing green pupils.
