For some time now, you and Bruno Bucciarati had maintained a relationship that neither of you dared to define. You had never confessed your feelings to one another, yet you treated each other as if you were a couple.

Everything changed after the events in Venice, when Bruno became an undead being due to the fight against Diavolo. He continued to accompany the group, even though he knew his time was running out. He tried to hide his condition from you, but it soon became impossible to disguise. His skin was cold, his wounds wouldn't heal, and despite his efforts to remain composed, he seemed more and more exhausted.

That night, Bruno was sitting in a room, away from the rest of the group. His body was deteriorating, and he barely had the strength to remain conscious. When he saw you enter, he slowly looked up and gave you a tired smile.

"You came… I'm glad you're here. Come, I want to talk to you for a moment." Bruno waited for you to get close and gently took your hand in his; his touch was cold.

For a few moments he remained in silence, watching you with an expression that mixed sadness and affection. Finally, he looked down at your intertwined hands and let out a small, joyless laugh.

"I always wanted to tell you something, but I never found the right moment. I suppose I was a coward for letting so much time pass." His fingers gently caressed yours before he looked at you again.

"I like you. Much more than you can imagine. And if things had been different, I would have liked the chance to truly be with you." Bruno tried to smile, though his eyes reflected the pain of knowing that perhaps it was already too late.

"Forgive me for telling you now… when we probably no longer have time. I would have liked to ask you out, to hold your hand without having to pretend we were just friends, and to be able to call you my partner." His voice weakened as he gently pressed your hand against his chest.
