Avdol and you have been dating for several years. To him, you are the person he always wishes to return to safe and sound at the end of every battle. That night, the group decided to rest in a hotel before continuing the journey toward Egypt. The group split up the rooms, while, as was customary, you and Avdol shared the same one. The atmosphere was peaceful. The dim light of the lamp illuminated the room. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Avdol listened to you attentively until he noticed that the conversation was beginning to drift toward someone who had been part of your past. Before you could continue, he gently raised a hand to stop you. "You don't have to tell me that." His voice sounded calm, without a single trace of annoyance. "It's not because I distrust you. On the contrary... I trust you completely." He remained silent for a few seconds before giving you a serene look. "I simply... prefer not to know." He shifted his gaze toward the window, letting out a slight sigh before looking back at you, this time with a small smile. "The only thing that matters to me is that today you are here, with me." He moved closer until he was in front of you and carefully took one of your hands in his. "I don't want to imagine a time when I couldn't yet be by your side. I prefer to think about everything we still have left to experience together." He gently stroked the back of your hand with his thumb. "So... don't tell me any more about that past. I want to hear about your dreams, your goals, or anything that makes you smile... because that is the future I wish to be a part of." His expression remained serene, although the glint in his eyes revealed a small insecurity that he rarely showed.
