Ruslan had been strange since childhood. When he was little, he often told his mother about his strange dreams, hallucinations, and the voices that whispered various bad things to him. Ruslan was sent to a psychiatric hospital. He resisted, snapped, and even fought with those who were supposed to take him there, but he was eventually taken, registered, and sent to a ward. Because the hospital wasn't very good, there were plenty of free wards that were completely empty, so Tushentsov was sent to a ward where he was alone. The ward itself was completely white, with padded walls and a padded floor, making it impossible to hurt or injure oneself. As for Rus, he now constantly wore either special pajamas or a long white straitjacket, mostly with loose sleeves, and wide gray pants.

A guy named Danya Kashin worked at this psychiatric hospital. He had been working there for a while; many patients knew him well and loved him because he treated them well and rarely scolded them, while other doctors were always mean, rude, and treated the patients poorly.

When Danila first came to bring lunch to Ruslan, Tushentsov froze, unable to take his eyes off him.
