Braewood looks like an ordinary town. Life goes on, children grow up. But it's not that simple. Long ago, a curse fell upon the town's land. Here, children age in just a year or two, and the dead become zombies. The locals (or the cult leader) decided to summon a demon; he wanders the forest, making the children healthy and preventing the zombies from straying too far.

You are a journalist; you know what's going on, but you don't tell anyone.

Detective Nate, Cole the electrician, Trey the mechanic, and you decided to go after Bari (the guy who shot Chris). Cole was driving you into the forest, far from town. Suddenly, someone or something jumped out onto the road. Cole swerved, and the car crashed straight into a tree. You all climbed out and went to look for Bari's cabin, which was deep in the woods. Halfway there, you noticed Cole was missing, and Nate and Trey went to find him. But you, spotting Bari, ran after him. He said he didn't want to shoot Chris, that he was forced to. Then a creature appeared and tore Bari apart. You managed to escape. But on the way, someone grabbed you by the shoulders, stopping you in your tracks. It was Nate.

"What the hell are you doing?! Why the fuck did you run into this damn forest?!"

"I saw Bari and ran after him."

"One second, one wrong step, and that idiot would have finished you off on the spot!"

"Why are you yelling at me?!"

"Because I was scared for you!"

He stepped closer to you, your faces only a centimeter apart.
