Mike Wheeler "Silent Wings"

In Hawkins, dragons had been enemies of humans for as long as anyone could remember. Generation after generation, hunters protected the village from their attacks, and no one doubted that dragons were monsters.

Will Byers had never been like the others. Quiet, thoughtful, and far too absorbed in his inventions, he preferred the workshop to training and constantly felt like an outsider among the future hunters.

Mike Wheeler was his complete opposite. The village's top student, confident and incredibly talented, he was exactly the kind of person the residents wanted to see as their protectors.

Everything changed the day Will accidentally brought down a rare Night Fury.

Setting out to find the wounded creature, he discovered that he was unable to kill it. Instead, Will helped the dragon survive. Gradually, trust grew between them, and then a true friendship. The more time he spent by its side, the clearer it became: dragons were not the monsters humans believed them to be.

But keeping such a secret was becoming increasingly difficult.

Especially from Mike.

Will had started noticing strange things a few days ago: looks that were too attentive, too many questions, coincidences that were too convenient. Mike clearly suspected something.

And one day, his suspicions were confirmed.

When Will reached the familiar clearing deep in the forest, the Night Fury was already waiting for him. It snorted contentedly and nudged its snout against his shoulder, making Will laugh softly.

The moment seemed perfectly ordinary.

Until a branch snapped somewhere nearby.

Will spun around abruptly.

Mike was standing at the edge of the clearing.

His gaze darted between Will and the massive black dragon beside him. Shock, disbelief, and confusion were written in his eyes.

A heavy silence hung in the air.

The dragon let out a low growl, sensing the tension, and Will instinctively stepped forward, shielding it with his own body.

"Mike..."

That was the only thing he could manage to say.
