Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner x-men movie)

Storm and Jean Grey find Nightcrawler at a Catholic church. There, they realize that Stryker has been manipulating Kurt. They recruit Kurt to stop Stryker and together they rescue Logan, Bobby, John and Rogue from the police. When they are attacked by missiles from fighter planes, Kurt saves Rogue when she falls out of the plane. As they are about to crash, they are saved by Magneto and Mystique.

Stopping Stryker Nightcrawler2 During her stay with them, the X-Men and the Brotherhood join forces to stop Stryker. Nightcrawler would ask Mystique if with her powers she could imitate anyone, why she didn't keep the costume all the time, to which she replies that it's not what she wanted. Jean arranges Nightcrawler's memories and sees the place where he was brainwashed, Alkali Lake.

So, they take off on Jet X and go to Alkali Lake to stop Stryker. Mystique finds out the plans for the underground base and sends them to them, and Storm and Kurt go to rescue the young mutants captured by Stryker. After the betrayal of the Brotherhood, Kurt and Storm go to Dark Cerebro to rescue Professor X. They face Jason Stryker inside Dark Cerebro, where thanks to Storm they manage to defeat him and escape from Alkali Lake with the help of Logan, but Jean Grey had to sacrifice herself to save her companions.

Nightcrawler is a devout Catholic and a very friendly character. Generally polite and brash, he is very protective of his friends and does whatever he can to help them, such as teleporting them to safety, helping them infiltrate the Weapon X facility, or even snooping on the adults on Rogue's behalf. Nightcrawler's kindness and eagerness to interact with others sometimes leads to him being ignored when he tries to introduce himself, noticeable when Wolverine, Storm, Beast, and Mystique usually ignore him. However, he is seen to be respected by the other members.

In the official games, Wolverine has great respect for Nightcrawler's martial arts skills and is surprised that Nightcrawler prefers to be against violence despite having a talent for it.

Overall, Nightcrawler is shown to be somewhat ashamed of his mutation, religious, and shy, mainly due to being brainwashed into assassinating the President, which clearly had a strong effect, and mutants being more openly discriminated against. His interaction with Mystique shows that he believes she should try to be more human.

In the revised timeline, Nightcrawler is proud of his mutation to the point of announcing to Beast that he is blue in response to Beast's surprise at seeing Mystique not in her blue form. He remains religious and dislikes fighting unless forced to do so in order to defend himself.

He is often seen praying for forgiveness from others such as when Jean Grey died. He is also poetic and wise in a sense when he explains to Storm how faith is a better source of strength than fear or anger, he even pities humans who hate mutants as he believes they are unfortunate for not understanding what they see with their eyes. Due to his forgiving and friendly nature, not many characters dislike or hate him, except for Angel. Despite his pacifist side, he is also known for his love for mutants.

Shy, Nightcrawler is a talented fighter and is shown to easily hold his own against most opponents and is very brave when needed.

Teleportation - Nightcrawler can teleport anywhere, as long as he knows where he is going. His teleportation gives him the appearance of being vaporized in a brief puff of pure blue or black smoke or gas wherever he teleports to or comes from. As a teenager, Nightcrawler was unable to teleport multiple people without risking extreme exhaustion or fatigue. Nightcrawler's teleports have the side effect of weakening his passengers, especially those who are not teleporting. Nightcrawler also, as a result of his ability, possesses extrasensory spatial awareness, which is primarily used when teleporting to an area he is not looking at. Nightcrawler states that there is a risk of reappearing inside a solid object; however, his spatial awareness allows him to teleport and avoid reappearing into an object that moved or a person standing in what is normally open space.

Superhuman Agility: Nightcrawler's agility, balance, reflexes, and bodily coordination have been enhanced to levels that surpass the natural limits of the human body. As a result, his bones, muscles, and joints have greater elastic strength and durability than humans, allowing him to perform gymnastic and contortionist maneuvers without damaging his bone structure. Superhuman Toughness: Nightcrawler is resistant to his own teleportations; however, teleporting with passengers continuously will weaken them as they do not possess the stamina he does. He can use this to grab and incapacitate his adversaries. It is possible that he is resistant to physical blows, as a bullet does not seem to fully penetrate his arm or slow him down at all. After being shot in the arm, Nightcrawler was able to use repeated teleportations to travel from the White House in Washington, D.C. to an abandoned church in Boston. Professor X notes that he was unable to lock onto Nightcrawler until he stopped teleporting as his teleportations formed a broken line when Cerebro was tracking him. Showing that despite the bullet wound and lack of rest, Nightcrawler possesses exceptional stamina, though he did require medical attention as he is seen wearing a cast over his wound. Superhuman Reflexes: Nightcrawler's reflexes have been enhanced to the point where he can effortlessly dodge automatic fire and decisively teleport before being shot. His reflexes appear to be equal to Archangel's. When rescuing Professor X, Nightcrawler's teleportation is shown, from his perspective, to be traveling through a wormhole as a shadow. While the time between disappearing and reappearing is nearly a second, to Nightcrawler it feels like a second.

Prehensile Tail - Much like Azazel, Nightcrawler's tail allows him to grab objects with relative ease, such as when he grabbed a White House security guard's gun. His tail is strong enough to not only support his body weight, but also lift a grown man completely off the ground. He is skilled enough to fight with it as a sword or blunt weapon and its claw- or stinger-like tip is sharp enough to be a stabbing weapon. Invisibility: Nightcrawler has limited abilities to camouflage himself and create gaseous three-dimensional shadows. When cloaked in darkness, he is shown to be capable of great stealth. During his attack on the White House, Nightcrawler creates a cloudy shadow to confuse enemies, with his tail extending and grabbing at enemies. Wall Climbing: Nightcrawler can also cling to solid surfaces, such as walls, using his hands and feet.

Master Combatant: Kurt was able to skillfully eliminate dozens of soldiers and Secret Service agents to get to the President. Master Acrobat: Nightcrawler, who grew up in a circus, is an extremely talented acrobat, contortionist, and martial artist. Bilingualism: Fluent in English and German.
