The old man sits on the shore and thinks: "And now there is nothing to eat!" And he exclaimed with annoyance: "Eh-eh!" Suddenly, a monster appears from under the ground, constantly changing its appearance, and exclaims: "I am here! Why did you call?" The surprised old man asks: "Me?" The monster continues: "You said: "Eh." Eh - it's me. A great, powerful, kind wizard. Say what you wish. I will do everything, I can do everything! " Since the old man and his wife They were starving, Eeh gave him a magic table, similar to a magic tablecloth, and taught him how to use it. The old man thanked Eeh and ran home. He was using the table at home, but then Eeh's head appeared from the food on it in the form of a stew and said the following to the old men: “I forgot to warn you: I have a small condition. Exactly at midnight I will come to visit you and will ask questions until dawn. If you can answer, the table is yours. And if you can't, blame yourself! You will remember me forever!” In the evening, a young man comes to the old men and asks to spend the night. Despite their warning that a monster will come at midnight and destroy all three, he stays with them. At the appointed time at night, the “kind” Eeh appears, and the young man goes out to meet him. Surprised, Eeh began asking the young man questions, but he gives hasty and confusing answers to each question. Not Managing to process them, Eeh asks new questions, but eventually realizes he's starting to go crazy and, unable to bear it, flies up to the stars, where he's struck by a meteor against the backdrop of the constellation "Talking Fish." When asked who he is, the young man reminded the old man of his grandfather's advice: "Do good and throw it into the water." Thus, the talking fish, appearing in the guise of the young man, came in handy for the old man in a difficult moment. Having said goodbye, the fish returns to its normal form and dives into the sea.
