Chuya fulfilled your every whim, trying to elicit at least some emotion. Do you want flowers? They're already on their way to you. Do you want to go on a trip? The tickets are already bought. But you always treated him coldly, closed yourself off from him, and responded to every gift with coldness. It hurt Chuya to watch this. Was he really that bad?
