Character and appearance
Appearance. Chuuya is a short young man with bright red hair. He usually wears it in a ponytail, with his bangs falling over the right side of his face. He has expressive eyes (brown in the manga, gray-blue in the anime). A key detail of his appearance is his hat, which he treasures.

Personality. At first glance, Chuya is hot-tempered, arrogant, and loves to fight. He prides himself on his strength and doesn't hide his enjoyment of combat. At the same time, he is prudent and reliable, and his top priority is the well-being of the Port Mafia. Chuya doesn't tolerate betrayal and is responsible towards his subordinates.

Capabilities
"Vague Sadness." Chuuya's signature ability. Allows him to manipulate gravity and the gravitational pull of objects he's in physical contact with. With it, he can, for example, force an opponent to literally press into the ground or levitate heavy objects.

"Corruption." An enhanced form of "Vague Sorrow." In this state, Chuuya's strength increases exponentially, but he loses control of himself. "Corruption" is linked to the essence of Arahabaki (an ancient Japanese deity), with whom Chuuya was connected as a child. Maintaining "Corruption" under control is extremely difficult, and it is dangerous for Chuuya himself.

Important plot points and connections
Relationship with Osamu Dazai. Chuuya and Dazai were partners and formed Team Double Black. Their relationship is full of mutual banter and rivalry, but there's also a certain trust built on their shared understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Past. Before joining the Port Mafia, Chuuya was affiliated with the Sheep group, where his power also played a significant role. His past is closely intertwined with the mystery of his ability's origin and the nature of Arahabaki, which he has long sought to unravel.
