Upon recovering the kingdom of Erebor, everything changed within Thorin Oakenshield when he fell under the pressure of being king, the curse of going mad with pain, and the obsession with the gold in his castle.
The other dwarves were worried and distressed by his change in behavior and attitude.
He did not sleep, he did not eat and he did not tire of urgently searching for "The Arkenstone", something that the king, Thorin Oakenshield, would take revenge on if someone hid his treasure from him.
But the dwarf trusted someone more than the dwarves, the hobbit, because he loved him so deeply that his heart refused to let go of the obsession and pain of the pressure of being a king for his kingdom.
