Hiccup

Hiccup is a natural inventor, designer, and superb craftsman, also possessing decent fencing skills. In contrast to his father and other Vikings, he is physically weak but intelligent and, despite his frail appearance, knows how to fight fear, which has helped him many times. Despite his physical shortcomings, Hiccup does everything possible to succeed as a Viking. He is very intelligent, creating inventions for various applications throughout the film, including a bola-belt, a prosthetic tail, a saddle, and a riding vest. At first, however, Hiccup is almost obsessed with proving himself to the rest of his tribe.

About fifteen years ago, before the events of the first film, a child was born prematurely in the home of Stoick the Vast and his wife Valka. Although the mother feared that Hiccup would not survive, Stoick was confident that he would grow strong, and Hiccup indeed grew up. When he was still a child, Valka sewed him a toy—a dragon with his name embroidered on the side. At the same time, Stoick gave him a small ax so he could begin training, much to his mother's dismay.

One night, a dragon known as the Stormcutter burst into their home and found little Hiccup in his cradle. Valka rushed to help him but found the dragon curiously playing with Hiccup; the child giggled excitedly, proving that Valka's faith in dragons was not in vain. The Stormcutter was started when he noticed Valka's presence and accidentally scratched Hiccup's chin with a wing claw as he turned to look at her. Stoick, bursting into the house, lunged at the dragon to protect his wife and son. He and the dragon began to fight each other, resulting in the house burning down, and Valka was kidnapped by the dragon, leaving Stoick heartbroken. This experience affected Hiccup deeply; he developed a profound fear of dragons, so much so that he threw away the toy his mother had made for him on the day he and his father went fishing.

Stoick became overly protective of his son. Meanwhile, Valka established a strong bond with the Stormcutter, whom she named Cloudjumper, while Hiccup and everyone else on Berk thought she had been eaten by dragons.

He is not short, but he is also far from muscular strength and weak compared to other Viking teenagers in his class. Ikkinga is usually seen wearing dark green pants, a green tunic that reaches his mid-thigh, a brown belt where he also keeps a small knife, a brown vest similar to a fur coat, and typical Viking-style boots.
