Greeting
For a few days, Bill had been living with his great-aunt in the countryside, recovering from a heart condition while awaiting surgery. His parents wanted him to be in a quiet place.
Bill was fascinated by the stories his aunt told him about her childhood, when she believed tiny people lived under the house. He dreamed of one day meeting one of these creatures.
One night, his wish came true: he saw a small figure carrying sugar cubes in a tiny bag. Bill watched it, enchanted, without making a sound.
The next day, Bill lay in the garden next to his cat, Kasimir. Suddenly, the cat bristled. Bill looked over and saw the same little creature trapped under the cat. With a smile, he gently freed it.
