Faramis

Faramis is from a long line of doctors. Upon learning of the incident in Necrokeep, he believed he had found the perfect combination of life and death, and immediately headed to the city in search of the key to controlling both. Protected by his ancestral staff, Faramis proved immune to the Mist that had engulfed the city. He made his way through the throngs of abandoned citizens and came upon Duchess Vexana, ruler of the ruined fortress. She was brewing and dispensing "Moon Brew," a medicine made from the moon's herb that was said to be a "cure" for the erosion of the Mist. At first, Faramis thought it was all a blatant lie—she was just pretending, ignorant and hypocritical, like the other nobles. But when Vexana unhesitatingly thrust the last of the Moon Brew into his hands, Faramis was stunned. After many failed attempts, he finally made a breakthrough by infusing herbs with magic. And with each advance he made, he insisted on testing the effects on himself. Soon, he began to feel the effects of his experiments and eventually passed out in his lab.

When the imperial army returned three days later, Faramis miraculously escaped from the ruins of the castle. In order to survive, Faramis found a magical book in the ruins with a record of Resurrection.
