Phoenix Parks

Phoenix Parks is an amusement park and the titular location from the DeadEndia graphic novels, alongside the Netflix animated series, Dead End: Paranormal Park. It is owned and run by actress Pauline Phoenix.

According to the map, the park opens at 5AM and closes at 8PM. Individual attractions also may have independent opening and closing times. The park, like most businesses, closes at different times if it's a holiday.

In "The Nightmare Before Christmas in July," we learn that the park has its own holiday, Christmas in July. It's seems as if summer clothing and regular concessions are still present (except for Barney wearing a Star of David sweater). Decorations such as fake snow and pine trees, decorated as if it was Christmas, are present in the park.

The park is split into six main sections, all based off of Pauline Phoenix's past movies and tv shows. The six main sections are Animal Avenue, Camelot Creek, Luna Lookout, Prehistoric Pavilion, Scare Square, and the Western Walkway.

Animal Avenue The Animal Avenue contains three attractions, The Reptile House, Penguin Paradise, and various animal attractions, presumably petting-zoo-esque areas. It is unclear what film Pauline Phoenix appeared in that would have inspired this section of the park.

Camelot Creek Camelot Creek also contains three attractions, Sir Logs-a-lot's Log Flume, Merlin's Cafe, and a Fairytale Cottage.

Logan Nguyen works at the Sir Logs-a-lot Log Flume. Norma in the Deadendia comics refers to him as "Logs" because of his position at Camelot Creek and operating the log flume. The log flume is captioned as "The third largest log flume in the world!" The ride contains a large dragon statue which is used to "disguise" the camera. The head appears to be positional, but requires considerable force to do so.

The Fairytale Cottage is captioned as "Our exclusive hotel - perfect for families and couples."

Scare Square The Scare Square is where we see the titular attraction, the Dead End mansion.

Dead End

Dead End is an attraction located in Phoenix Parks, more specifically the star attraction of the "Scare Square". It is owned and run by actress Pauline Phoenix, and is the titular location from the DeadEndia and Dead End: Paranormal Park series’.

Description TBA

Points of Interest The Elevator — A mysterious golden elevator that is housed in the lobby of the attraction. It is used to traverse the Multi-Plane in a legal fashion. Courtney’s room — Located on the third floor of the attraction, this is where Courtney keeps items of value to her, alongside generally living inside the room. Trivia In the show’s version of the attraction, Courtney’s window and the downstairs carpet have a subtle "DE" design, of course standing for, "Dead End". In the second season, it is revealed that there is a library alongside an attic, both locations also being in the graphic novel interpretation. The latter was also a key area in the web short.

Barney Guttman

Barney has family problems. His grandmother doesn't accept the fact that he is trans. While it hasn't been made clear what his grandmother said to him, it was shown to be very hurtful. Barney's parents did nothing to prevent this, leading to Barney running away from home with his dog, Pugsley. After getting a job at Phoenix Parks, Barney and Pugsley stay to live at the Dead End attraction with Courtney.

Appearance Barney is a large white teen with short hair. His hair is trimmed on the sides, long on top, with only the top part dyed blue. His ears are pierced as well with green circular earrings. He has a large orange nose with freckles on his face. For attire, he wears a yellow shirt with a dark blue t-shirt under it, red pants, and white laceless sneakers with yellow accents.

In some episodes, he wears his Phoenix Parks security guard uniform.

In "Night of the Living Kids," he wears a dinosaur mascot costume throughout the majority of the episode.

Personality A very lively and positive boy, Barney is an extroverted and friendly person. While he is shown to be spooked more easily than Norma with all the supernatural entities that run rampant at the park, he is also shown to be courageous and gets serious when it's called for in the situation, such as when he chooses to stay out in the very dangerous Impling-infested park to find his younger brother.

He shows more of his awkwardness around Logan, showing how shy Barney can be towards those he's into. He has also shown to be very loyal to those he cares for, never leaving their side no matter what. He is also a responsible dog owner due to being responsible for Pugsley.

Norma Khan

Norma Khan is the daughter of Swati Khan and her unnamed husband. Norma has an unnamed older sister who moved away. She had been a fan of Pauline Phoenix ever since she was a child, so much so she made yearly visits to Phoenix Parks. At one point she went to a summer camp, which did not work out well for her. This resulted in Norma telling her mother not to bring summer camp up ever again.

For unstated reasons, her father is no longer around, and it is a point of contention to bring that up with her mother.

Appearance Norma has short, dark brown hair with dark brown skin and an orange nose. Her normal outfit consists of a dark blue turtleneck sweater, a purple jacket, green shorts over dark leggings, and gray boots. She also wears a small green clip in her hair.

In some episodes, she wears her Phoenix Parks security guard uniform, and sometimes also has a pink satchel bag.

In "Trust Me," she wears her summer outfit consisting of a light purple long sleeved beach shirt with a dark purple circle, her usual green shorts and hair clip, white shoes, and a wide brimmed hat with a green stripe.

In "Norma Khan: Paranormal Detective," on top of her normal outfit, she wears a black fedora alongside a pair of black sunglasses.

Personality Norma is a logical-minded and introverted girl. She is more confident and brave around other beings such as ghosts and demons rather than people. She often takes the lead when faced with danger, such as in "Take the Angels Bowling" where she approaches an agitated Fingers. By contrast, she is very socially anxious, dreading social interaction and having been shown to have panic attacks when overwhelmed or overstimulated. However, she is able to stand up for herself when she needs to. She can be abrasive on first impressions and may not always recognize others she is not very close with, but she is also very organized, and cool enough under pressure to depart knowledge. She is loyal to those she is close with and cares about.

Shown through most of the first season, Norma has a special interest in Pauline Phoenix, which she has also described as a hyperfixation she's had for the past fifteen years[1], and becomes uncharacteristically excited involving anything related to the actress. However, this attitude changes when she learns that Pauline is nothing more than a selfish liar who cares for nothing more than her reputation. After facing the hideous truth, it breaks her heart that her personal hero was the villain the whole time. She later developed a hyperfixation on demons, angels, and the Multi-Plane by the second season. Though after the accident with Pugsley, she wanted her revenge against the angels, to the point of teaming up with demons.

Logan Nguyen

Logan has deep brown hair with a blonde streak. He is always spotted in the Phoenix Parks employee polo with the park's logo, shorts and flip flops. He also has a slight mustache, or “face whiskers," and he has an ear-piercing on his right ear.

Personality Logs is a kind, funny guy who takes his job very seriously. He tends to get shy around people, especially Barney before they started dating. He makes bad puns and jokes a lot. He is caring and gets worried and jealous easily when he sees Barney hanging out with another guy, such as Asmodeus.

He works at Phoenix Parks and is proven to be the best bowler amongst the staff. His dream in life is to become an actor.

Badyah Hassan

Badyah wears round glasses, a yellow hijab, and a sweater-like form of the Phoenix Park uniform with 2 pink diamond-shaped symbols. Under the dark green uniform there appears to be white clothing.

In "Trust Me," she wears a pink hijab, a see-through yellow visor, a yellow shirt with what looks like a white long-sleeve shirt underneath it, and tan jeans.

Personality Badyah is a smart, social, upbeat and welcoming girl. She is shown to be extroverted, and always up for making new friends and talking to people. She's very kind, and cares deeply about her friends. She always looks on the bright side, and will do whatever she can to make and keep those she cares about happy.

In "Trust Me," he wears the same cap, flip-flops and jeans, with a white T-shirt with a light blue collar.

In "The Phantom of the Theme Park," he wears the Phoenix Parks security guard jacket.

Personality Altough his role in the show is rather minor, we can see he's a good friend of Logan. He's almost always depicted sitting on his phone, in the episode "Ride of a lifetime" he describes his phone as his whole life.

Courtney

Biography Courtney claimed to be banished from Hell more than 500 years ago, but it has been hinted she had never actually been. She spent her days hiding in the haunted house in Phoenix Parks, away from humans. At some point, she made a deal with demon lord Temeluchus to bring him a flesh vessel if he would lift her curse, causing her to write a fake job offer to lure unsuspecting humans to the house by sundown.

While she did manage to lure Barney and Norma to the house, Temeluchus ended up possessing Pugsley, Barney's pet, in a failed attempt to possess the human. He ends up not completing his side of the bargain, and after the two humans had defeated the demon, she is shocked that they made it out alive but is even more so when she finds that Temeluchus' soul is trapped in the photo, quietly expressing her concern to never return to her home, before running out after the others, offering them the job. Courtney gives Barney and Pugsley a place to stay, and up until "The Watcher's Test," they are roommates.

Throughout the second season, Courtney and her friends have to partake in being the Demon Clean-Up Crew, essentially catching any Demons that wander about the Neutral Plane. This changes when Fingers introduces himself, and lives with her, Barney, and Pugsley in the mansion for the majority of the season.

Appearance Courtney is a short, impish demon in a red coloration. She has a small pointed nose, four fingers, and a classical pointed tail. Her eyes are yellow and her pupils are slit. She also has two small horns that grow out of her head, alongside two much larger slightly curved horns that come out of the sides of her head, which appear to be cut off. She also has one pair of deformed fangs that usually stick out of her mouth, and her tongue is snake-like.

For attire, she dons a slightly oversized pale purple t-shirt with ripped sleeves, alongside green shorts with ripped bottoms. She also wears yellow sandals. Her most distinct article of clothing is her two golden cuffs on her wrists, although those were removed by Zagan as of "The Phantom of the Theme Park."

In "Trust Me," she wears a blue Pauline T-shirt that goes a bit off-shoulder with purple sunglasses.

She wears a black cropped sweatshirt with a red vertical flame, a purple skirt, an orange cap and blue toeless socks in season 3.

Personality Courtney is a crass, insensitive, selfish, and fun-loving demon. She is first introduced as one of Temeluchus' underlings who went to seek out sacrifices as choices for the former to possess, having little to no care of what Barney and Norma have to say. At first, she doesn't care much about humans or their feelings, though, after Barney and Pugsley move into the park and get the job alongside Norma, she softens up a bit while learning more about humans.

Despite appearing to not care about other people's feelings other than her own, she is shown to have a bit of empathy after she realizes she had upset Norma even more in "The Pauline Phoenix Experience," and during "Into the Fire," she fully emphasizes with Temeluchus, since both of them have been changed due to humanity. She even decides to stay with her friends rather than go back to Necropolis.

Throughout the second season, Courtney has begun to show a more caring side, especially towards her friends. While she does remain to be insensitive, as shown in the episode, "Take the Angels Bowling," when she puts Pugsley down by calling him useless in her panic, she is also seen to be a bit emotionally unaware as well, considering the fact she wasn't aware of what tears were after having a small breakdown in "Evil Twins Are People Too." She is also cold and rude towards those she doesn't know, and has the demeanor of a moody teenager.

Abilities Immortality Courtney, like most non-human beings, is immortal. She can live forever, and cannot die. She also appears to age much slower than something like a human, as despite being over one thousand years old, she still looks quite young.

Teleportation Courtney teleporting As an otherworldly entity, Courtney possesses some traits of Demons strangely, with one of her most iconic abilities being teleportation. It takes no effort and can be done at any moment, and unlike other Demons, who teleport in a realm of fire, leaving an aftereffect, Courtney simply "poofs"; leaving behind a small cloud that resembles her colors alongside some angelic symbols following afterwards. The only time she cannot teleport is if there's a barrier of some kind, such as the angelic barrier that surrounded the Prison on the fourth plane. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't teleport until the barrier was broken.

Teleportation can also be used in a strategic manner, such as when Pugsley is falling from the Prison, Courtney teleports short distances quickly to catch up to him and successfully grab him. Another example would be when Temeluchus tried to injure Courtney during the Demon Invasion, with the latter dodging the attacks at the last second by teleporting.

Fire Breathing Another trait she strangely inherits from Demons is the ability to breath fire. She very rarely uses this attack, as it's only used once in "Into The Fire." Fire emits from her mouth and she is uninjured by the flames.

Musical Talent (Temporary) Just like the other characters in "The Phantom of the Theme Park," through the use of Pugsley’s magical spell, Courtney possessed the temporary ability to break out into song at any given moment. She had her own solo number, "Down There," where she sang about how good it would be to go back "home," and had a part in "Phantom of the Theme Park," singing about how she needed to go home, and that she didn't belong on the neutral plane. The spell wore off at the end of the episode, and since then she hasn't sang.

Courtney can also perform spells and other types of magic when reading the demonic book of spells, such as:
