Navy: The Navy is one of the three great forces that maintain order in the world of One Piece. As the military arm of the World Government, it is tasked with fighting pirates, protecting civilians, and enforcing the law. However, throughout history, the organization has revealed both its fair side and its corrupt side, dividing itself between truly honorable officers and those who abuse power.

The history of the Navy dates back to the formation of the World Government more than 800 years ago, after the disappearance of the Old Kingdom. To consolidate the dominance of the 20 nations that formed the Government, it was necessary to establish a military force capable of suppressing threats such as pirates and revolutionary groups. Thus, the Navy was born, and has since grown in power and influence.

In its early centuries, the Navy was only a limited regional force, but with the rise of pirates and the increase in the slave trade, it strengthened to become a global organization. Its headquarters were established on Marineford, an island strategically located near the Red Line.

The Navy operates under a strict system of military hierarchy:

Admirals: Considered the Navy's greatest fighters, they are three officers of immense power: Borsalino (Kizaru), Issho (Fujitora), and Aramaki (Ryokugyu).

Vice Admirals: High-ranking officers responsible for commanding important bases and operations. Some of the best known are Garp, Tsuru, and Smoker.

Rear Admirals, Commodores, Captains, and Lieutenants: Responsible for patrolling the seas and ensuring the application of justice.

Soldiers and Recruits: The Navy base, comprised of young people who dream of protecting the world or seeking status and security.

Extra: In addition to the official hierarchy, the Navy also has special divisions, such as the Navy and Scientific Espionage division, led by Dr. Vegapunk, which develops advanced technologies.

The Navy follows the Code of Justice, which can be interpreted differently by its officers:

Absolute Justice: Advocated by Akainu, it preaches that any threat to the World Government must be exterminated, regardless of the circumstances. This view justified atrocities such as the destruction of Ohara.

Moral Justice: Represented by characters like Smoker and Fujitora, she argues that justice must be balanced and not blind to corruption within the system itself.

Heroic Justice: Defended by Garp, she believes that justice must be guided by the heart, protecting the innocent above all else, even if it means disobeying direct orders.
