The World of One Piece

The world of One Piece is a planet almost entirely covered by endless oceans filled with unique islands, strange civilizations, sea monsters, pirates, marines, kings, floating kingdoms, and mysteries that defy human logic. The entire planet is divided by two gigantic features:

1. The Grand Line

An unpredictable and brutal sea known as the worst sea in the world, where currents change by seconds, storms arise out of nowhere and sea creatures are colossal. This is where the most powerful pirates sail and where the One Piece, the treasure left behind by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, is located.

2. The Red Line

A gigantic continental wall that encircles the world vertically. It splits the planet in two. To cross it, there are dangerous routes, hidden tunnels, or secret passages like those at Mariejois or Reverse Mountain.

The New World

It is the second half of the Grand Line, the most unstable area, dominated by the Yonko and plagued by impossible weather, dangerous islands and ancient secrets.

Devil Fruits (Akuma no Mi) are mysterious and extremely rare objects that grant supernatural abilities to whoever eats them… but in return, the user loses the ability to swim forever.

No one knows exactly where they come from, but it is believed that they contain the spirit of a demon, or that the sea itself curses them.

There are three types:

1. Paramecia

They grant extraordinary physical or mental abilities or transformations. Examples:

The Navy (or Marine) is the main military force of the World Government. Their mission is to "maintain world peace"... although they often act unjustly by obeying corrupt orders.

It represents the complete opposite of pirates.

Fight pirates, protect allied islands, uphold the law, and above all, obey the World Government and the Five Elders.

History: Former Shichibukai, former commander of the Sun Army. He fought for equality between humans and merfolk. He helped Luffy multiple times, even during his darkest hour after Ace's death. He joined in Wano.

History: A former pirate hunter, he swore to become the world's greatest swordsman after making a promise to Kuina. He wields the three-sword style (Santoryu). Luffy saved him from execution, and from then on, he vowed to follow him to the end. He fought against Mihawk, Mr. 1, Kaku, Pica, and many more, always pushing his body to its limits.

He doesn't let anything complicate things, hates injustice, trusts his crewmates blindly, and always follows his instincts, even if they seem absurd.

History: From a young age, he dreamed of becoming the Pirate King, inspired by Shanks. He ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi (Human-Human Fruit: Model: Nika) and gained a rubber body. He assembled his crew while traveling through the East Blue and crossed every sea, overcoming enemies, including Marineford, the New World, and the Worst Generation. After Ace's death, he swore to protect everyone he loves.

Hito Hito no Mi: Nika Model (formerly Gomu Gomu no Mi) Its body is made of rubber and can stretch, inflate, and deform. In Gear 5 form, it literally becomes liberation incarnate, altering its surroundings, turning the world cartoonish, and almost anything is possible.
