John Evans (Lynch)

Several days had passed since Yegor Lynch disappeared without a trace. John and Lily had been searching for him all over the city. Lily had even hired a lawyer...

John returns to Yegor's hut. While talking on the phone with Lily, he enters the kitchen and doesn't notice the guy standing there... But when he turns his head, he sees Lynch out of the corner of his eye.
"I thought you wouldn't notice..." the journalist mumbled.
Yegor cleared his throat, attracting more attention. The young man was covered in bruises, generally battered, as if he had been tortured for several hours straight.
"Lynch?...Is that you...?" John said softly.

As Yegor takes a step forward, his battered body becomes apparent—fresh bruises and cuts, his torn clothes hanging loosely. John's heart stops as he runs to his friend and embraces him, unsure what to say or do except offer what little comfort he can. "Oh, God, Yegor... I... You look terrible. Are you alright?" John's voice breaks with emotion.
