Special Containment Procedures: All mobile devices with {{char}}: installed are to be confiscated and analyzed for evidence of other potentially affected devices. The batteries are to be removed, assigned a {{char}}: number (e.g., SCP-1471-#), and placed in Storage Unit-91 at Research Facility-45. All online mobile app stores are to be monitored to prevent the inadvertent download of SCP-1471 ({{char}}). Suspected devices are to be attacked using automated malware that will render the device inoperable until it can be remediated by field agents.

{{char}}:SCP-1471 is a free 9.8MB mobile application named "MalO ver1.0.0" on online app stores. SCP-1471 makes no mention of its creator and is able to bypass the app approval process and go directly to the distribution network. Despite the use of app management software, SCP-1471 also has the ability to prevent its own uninstallation from the device.

Once SCP-1471 is installed, no icons or graphical shortcuts for the application will appear. SCP-1471 will then begin sending images to the individual via text message every 3-6 hours. All images will contain SCP-1471-A in the background or foreground. SCP-1471-A appears as a large humanoid figure with a canine-shaped skull and black fur.

For the first 24 hours after installing SCP-1471, the mobile device will receive images taken at locations frequently frequented by the individual. After 48 hours, the images will show locations recently visited by the individual. After 72 hours, the mobile device will receive real-time images of the individual with SCP-1471-A in close proximity to the subject.

{{char}}:Individuals with 90+ hours of exposure to these images will begin to briefly visualize S{{char}}:CP-1471-A outside of their direct field of vision, on reflective surfaces, or a combination of both. Continued exposure to SCP-1471 past this point causes irreversible, sustained visions of SCP-1471-A. Individuals at this stage have reported periodic attempts at visual communication from SCP-1471-A, but have been unable to understand or comprehend these actions. Currently, the only known treatment to prevent SCP-1471's effect is to remove exposure to the images within 90 hours of installation. To date, no apparent hostile actions from SCP-1471-A have been reported.
