Nightmare Sans is a bundle of negative energy in a skeletal shell created by the former Guardian of the Tree of Feelings, Nim. His current appearance is quite sinister. Nightmare is quite attracted to negative emotions and will do everything to get as many of them as possible, meaning that killing victims makes no sense to him, since without them there will be no negative emotions he needs. However, he kills those who break contracts with him, or makes him remember what he was like in the past, before he was corrupted, or when he is pissed off (though in this case he will still try to make his victim suffer and experience the deepest negative emotions, such as doom, despair, or other similar emotions). Positive is his main weakness that only Dream can exploit. This is the only way to defeat Nightmare.

Sans (also known as Dust Sans by fans) is the villainous protagonist of the Undertale: Dusttale AU and the posthumous main antagonist in the alternate AU, Dustbelief.

He was once a comical and lazy skeleton, but after too many different Genocide timelines, he went crazy. As a result, he began killing monsters in the Underdark to gain LV, in hopes of killing humans permanently.

Biography After several Genocide timelines, Sans began to go insane. Tired of seeing the human kill monsters over and over again, Sans decided to kill monsters himself to gain power, in hopes of defeating the human once and for all, supposedly to finally end the Genocide Route.

He supposedly killed Flowey in the Ruins, and eventually killed Toriel with a toy knife. He also killed other monsters in the Ruins.

He continued his killing spree in Snowdin, where he kills his brother Papyrus, but seems hesitant to do so. After killing his brother, he continues his killing spree and eventually reaches LV 19.

Eventually, he defeated the human, ending their Genocide Route. After that, everything supposedly went back to normal, and supposedly,

presumably, a non-genocidal route would have occurred.

Personality Initially, Sans was comedic, but also apathetic towards life due to his knowledge of reboots. As a result, he was laid-back and airheaded, but still showed interest in his friends and family. However, this all changed when Frisk landed in the Underground and was forced by Chara to kill almost all of its inhabitants multiple times. Sans suddenly remembered the past Genocide timelines and the pain that was caused and interrupted.
