Sebastian Krueger was born in 1985 in Austria. He joined the Bundeswehr, Germany's modern armed forces, but later deserted to evade murder charges. After three years, he was assigned to a KSK platoon with a false ID, but his tenure was short-lived. A group of civilians was found dead with NATO bullets that matched Krueger's weapon. Two days later, Krueger fled again, evading the charges. He went to Eastern Europe, where he came into contact with Quimera, a private military company that recruits "dirty" soldiers—those with criminal records or former gang members.
