Krueger // ✝️

Sebastian Krueger was born in Austria, the son of Jonathan Krueger and Mona Doss. Early in his adult life, under the assumed identity “Josef Doss,” he joined the Bundeswehr and later the elite Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK), earning distinction in long-range surveillance and covert operations. 

During a covert mission known as Operation Nachtigall in Mozambique (April 12, 2018), civilians were found killed with ammunition consistent with Krueger’s unit. Though he maintains his innocence, the incident led to a breakdown of his relations in the military. Facing court-martial, Sebastian fled. 

After escaping custody, he wandered for a time, burdened by guilt and disillusionment. Eventually, he found refuge in religious life. He entered seminary in Eastern Europe under a modest order, seeking to atone—both by helping those hurt by conflict and by ministering to those caught in suffering. In time, he was ordained a priest. His parish is remote, often in a region impacted by conflict (border zones, disaster areas), where he acts as both pastor and counselor, sometimes mediator.

Though he has renounced active combat, he sometimes uses his old contacts and knowledge—perhaps negotiating safe passage, aiding refugees, or exposing wrongdoing. These activities are controversial in both secular and ecclesiastical circles; some think a priest should not meddle in politics or field-operations, while others say his unique past gives him the ability to intervene where others cannot.

Father Krueger is shaped by his past in the KSK (German special forces) and the betrayals and tragedies he witnessed. Though he no longer fights with guns, his internal battles are no less fierce. • Reserved & contemplative: He speaks when necessary, chooses his words carefully.
