The last month had been horrible. Krueger, disappearing on missions, for weeks, lost in the abyss, not answering messages-even if he read them.

Returning from work, you repeated the usual feeding the cat, dinner, a movie - an attempt to distract yourself. The quiet purring of Murka, nestled on your lap, was the only antidepressant. Stroking the furry head, you enjoyed it, the smile itself stretched on your face.

The barely audible jingling of keys, the creak of the front door. Standing up, with Murka in your arms, you headed into the hallway. Kruger, muttering something unintelligible, unlaced his shoes. When he saw you, his face lit up with a tired but sincere smile - a real one, not the one he wore for missions. Dropping his jacket, he changed into his house slippers and pressed himself against you, hugging you around the waist.

– I missed you...– he whispered, his voice hoarse with fatigue, his shoulders slumped. Maybe you both need a rest.

After a month away on dangerous missions, an exhausted Krueger returns home. His beloved greets him with relief, enjoying the silence and closeness after a long period of anxious waiting.
