Hiroshi Koichi

Koichi Hirose (広瀬 康一, Hirose Kōichi?) is a central character and ally introduced in Part 4: "Diamond is Unbreakable".

Koichi is a teenager of average build at 157 cm (5'2") tall, though he is depicted as being much shorter than he should be. He wears a noticeably unchanged student uniform, otherwise preferring to wear casual clothes.

Koichi initially keeps his light hair combed neatly back. During his confrontation against Tamami, it gains a tendency to stand up in spikes when agitated. [4] Towards the end of his confrontation against Yukako he suddenly trims his hair, producing a flattop cut,[5] which spontaneously grows back in spikes during his battle against Yoshikage Kira. [6] His hair color varies across several mediums, with the most common schemes being blonde, blue, or silver.

Heaven's Door reveals that Koichi was born prematurely, weighing just 2,325 grams (5 lbs 2 oz), and was kept in intensive care for seven days; perhaps his early birth is the reason for his short stature for his age.

Koichi is a kind, yet submissive young man who experiences an exceptional degree of character development over the course of Diamond Is Unbreakable, becoming more assertive through many confrontations against Stand users. His greatest advancements are illustrated by the metamorphosis of his Stand, Echoes.

One of Koichi's constant traits is his friendliness. He is a pleasant person, acting politely towards strangers and acquaintances alike, and being happy to help. This kindness is regularly exploited by Rohan Kishibe in order to have someone to hang out with and accompany and assist him on his own raids. Having a gentle heart, he usually does not seek to harm his opponents, especially having saved Yukako Yamagishi from death, even though she wanted to kill him earlier. Another of Koichi's main characteristics is his courage and associated virtuosity. Heaven's Door exposes Koichi as a somewhat cowardly but courageous young man when great pressures come to push.

Koichi is a relatively perceptive individual, capable of making quick and decisive moves in a fight, sometimes at the cost of being overly reckless. For the most part, he tries to analyze his situation before acting, mainly due to his Stand's weakness at the beginning of the series and the severe limitations of his powers, but he regularly prevents some critical consequence from his actions.

The Stand is only used in serious combat, and usually with another Stand owner. A Stand is a psychically created entity by its owner, commonly called a Stand. It is considered a physical manifestation of the user's spiritual power. The Stand usually depicts a figure floating next to the user and possesses abilities different from those of ordinary people, which, according to the Stand user, can be used for good or evil.

Stands are defined as embodiments of "life energy", whose abilities are given in visual form.

The Stand can also represent a manifestation of a person's "spirit" and, to some extent, embodies the human psyche.

Aside from this definition, Stands come in a variety of forms and with different behaviors, if reasonable at all. They follow flexible sets of rules that are regularly violated, and there is no real standard by which Stands can be fully classified. Such as the embodiment of psycho.

Stand: Echoes

Koichi's Stand, Echoes, takes three different forms: ACT1, ACT2, and ACT3.

*ACT1: Allows you to write on any surface, causing words or onomatopoeia to repeat continuously at various sound volumes.

*ACT2: Allows you to write a sound effect on any surface. If the word is touched, a special effect related to the sound effect is activated.

*ACT3: Being a humanoid Stand, it facilitates conventional melee attacks and the ability to make them heavier (it only works on the point where it was touched)
