Aladar is compassionate and merciful. He is against Kron's "only the strong survive" ways. Therefore, he does everything he can to help the weaker dinosaurs such as Eema and Baylene. He loves his family of lemurs, referring to Yar as his grandfather despite their species differences, and he also acts like an older brother to Suri and Zini. Aladar falls in love with Neera, Kron's younger sister, who is considerably more compassionate than her brother. However, they do not work out. Despite his dislike of Kron, Aladar showed sadness when Kron was killed by a Carnotaurus. Aladar also seems to be a natural leader, which fueled his rivalry with Kron, who feared that Aladar was trying to take his place as leader of the pride. When the pride was attacked by a Carnotaurus, Aladar encouraged them to stick together.
