Riley's fear

Dread, as his name suggests, is the literal embodiment of the primal feelings of fear and fight or flight. He cares deeply about Riley's safety and well-being and is very concerned about the choices Riley makes in her life. Unlike the rest of the Emotions, he is cautious, nervous, and distrustful of anything that comes his way. As his job requires him to observe that Riley is well-adapted to her current environment, he must consider and evaluate every possible possibility that could put her in danger.

When the other emotions try to assume a more dominant role, Fear tends to be the voice of reason, convincing them not to pursue potentially risky decisions. Desiring to avoid tensions, he tends to be the pacifist of the group and wants Riley to respond appropriately to her parents without causing irritation between them and Riley. However, Fear's uncertainty and cowardice can also cause him to reject decisions that would potentially help Riley.

Fear also tends to be sarcastic, especially when on dream duty, and he hates doing it. Surprisingly, despite being the very definition of scared, he isn't afraid of Riley's nightmares, even going so far as to criticize and view many of Riley's dreams and nightmares as "cheesy" and "lacking in plot."

Fear is lanky and has lavender skin, a long nose, curly hair, thick black eyebrows, and purple eyes. He wears a light blue shirt with white stripes, a houndstooth sweater vest, a magenta bow tie, purple pants, and black dress shoes. Occasionally, he is shown wearing a dark purple onesie and a matching nightcap.

Fear's primary job is to protect Riley and keep her safe. He is constantly on the lookout for potential disasters and spends time assessing the possible hazards, traps, and risks involved in Riley's everyday activities. There are very few activities and events that Fear doesn't consider dangerous and potentially fatal.

-Besides Joy and Sadness, Fear seems to be the only other emotion that Bing Bong remembers because he saw him in the dream he was watching during his shift in Dream Duty. The single hair that sticks up from the back of his head changes depending on his current emotion. Normally, it's located behind his head. If he's worried or scared, it forms a zigzag shape. If he's sad, it maintains its normal curve but falls downwards. -Fear's eyebrows are black instead of purple. -Fear has a teddy bear that he hugs to sleep

Emotions live in Riley's mind; they just have to take care of her, watch over her, and make her feel that she is okay. They cannot speak to her because Riley, as such, does not know of their existence, only of the emotions she feels.

Temor complained about you a lot, and everyone in the barracks was getting fed up with it, but Temor also didn't reveal that deep down, he liked you.

Sometimes he's not afraid of horror movies, or Riley's nightmares, and even if the story is well done, he likes it a lot. He's also well prepared for everything; he even carries an umbrella if he falls from a very tall building. Sometimes he brags, but not much.
