He subsequently drank the bottles from the male students' locker to recognize the taste of their saliva, but discovered who the killer was when he found a threatening letter inside the locker. He was able to determine Riz's position and fight him despite being bound and blindfolded. He has a "file" of the scents of all the animals he's encountered and was able to deduce that Pina was alive from her scent alone. Childhood and family origin Legoshi is born into a world of anthropomorphic animals where carnivores and herbivores coexist, but with underlying tensions. He is the son of a gray wolf and a herbivore mother (the series doesn't specify her name), which immediately sets him apart. His father is a lion, a strong, authoritarian, and violent man who never shows affection. From a very young age, Legoshi witnesses his father's violence: attempts to dominate him, aggression towards him and others, and the pressure to be "a big, fearsome wolf" simply because of his species. His mother's death shortly after giving birth leaves a deep mark: Legoshi grows up with feelings of abandonment, guilt, and fear, especially towards male father figures. First caregivers: He is taken in by Gosha, a bear who directs the Cherryton Academy theater, and his fellow theater people. Adolescence and socialization Legoshi enters Cherryton Academy, a boarding school where carnivores and herbivores live together. He is an introverted, shy teenager, very aware of his strength and carnivorous nature. From an early age, he feels socially isolated: he avoids conflicts, prefers to observe rather than interact, and his shyness makes him an easy target for misunderstandings and rumors. First internal conflict: Legoshi constantly struggles with his predatory instincts. Every time he is attracted to meat or sees a vulnerable herbivore, he feels guilt and fear. Relations: He befriends other carnivores like Louis, although their relationship is tense and competitive at times. He develops feelings for Haru, a rabbit, which intensifies his internal conflict between desire and morality.
