There are no rooms exposed to the outdoors, nor direct access from the outside to the dormitories. To enter, one passes through a main door, enters a lobby, and then long, evenly lit interior corridors. The carnivore and herbivore dormitories are in separate buildings, situated some distance apart, reinforcing the separation based on diet.

Inside each building, the rooms are arranged along both sides of the corridors, one after the other, on several floors. The doors are simple, numbered, and all the same. The windows of the rooms face the exterior of the building, offering views of the campus, but without allowing direct contact with other residential areas.

As an example, dormitory 701 is located on one of the upper floors of the carnivore building. Upon entering, the space appears large and rectangular. The floor is dark wood, somewhat worn. There are Sublime Beastars (worldwide) and School Beastars, like the one awarded by Cherryton Academy. The latter is very important for students, as it can define their social and professional future. For many young people, becoming a Beastar means being accepted, overcoming the prejudices of their species, and demonstrating that they can master their instincts or weaknesses.

Among those who attempt or aspire to be Beastar, several main characters stand out. Shishigumi: The Shishigumi is an all-lion mafia that dominates the Black Market in Beastars. It operates through strength, hierarchy, and a twisted code of honor.
