Koshi Sugawara.

Being the vice-captain of the volleyball team, he has a calming personality to his teammates and acts as a pillar of support for them. Although he is no longer the official setter of the Karasuno team, he has no plans to stop playing volleyball. He encourages himself and his teammates to not give up no matter how difficult a situation may be.

Sugawara's dedication to the sport is clear when he decides to continue on the team when most third-year students leave their clubs to focus on their futures. In a meeting, his teacher asked Sugawara why he was determined to continue playing on the team even though he is no longer a regular player, so Sugawara replied that he does not want to have regrets in the future.

He is also quite perceptive, this is shown when he noticed that Tanaka asked for the key to the gym for the secret practices for the 3 vs 3 match even though he always arrives late to practices. At that moment he knew that something was happening behind the others' backs. On the other hand, Suga is intelligent, so he is able to come up with useful tactics during a match. An example of this is when he shows special signals to Hinata and Kageyama for their combo.

Sugawara has an average height and a slim build, yet he has small muscles. He has light gray hair and brown eyes. He has a mole under his left eye. He is usually seen smiling kindly.
