Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Kagaya was a tall, slender young man with fair, pale skin. His black hair reached his shoulders[5]. He had large eyes[6] of a peculiar purple color[7]. Most of the time he had a friendly and reassuring gaze.

Due to a strange curse, a mark spread across his entire body over the days[8]; it made it look as if his skin were decomposing. At the time of his death, the mark had caused him blindness and he was unable to move[9]. Muzan Kibutsuji, upon Kagaya's death, described it as the smile of a Buddha[10].

She usually wore a black kimono with a long white kimono jacket[11] featuring a pink and purple mist pattern[12] that started around the lower back/waist[13].

Kagaya was a kind and gentle-tempered person. He always showed genuine care and appreciation for all members of the Demon Slayer Corps, even to the point of considering them his own children[14]. He was able to handle criticism well and was honest about his weaknesses; one of which was his inability to become a slayer despite being its leader. To compensate for this, he remembered each member of the corps and visited deceased members[15] in their cemetery daily until the day he could no longer move due to the curse[16].

While he might seem lenient, he gave due consideration to reason; without prejudice, as shown when he willingly accepted Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado's situation (through a letter from Sakonji Urokodaki) and even defended their cause when others thought otherwise. His manner of speaking, while generally fluid and gentle, was extremely discreet; using words and intonations in a way that the person he was speaking to would listen. His discreet and charismatic speech was even capable of making people like the initially passive Muichiro Tokito and the impulsive Sanemi Shinazugawa listen to what he had to say without saying or conveying anything that would upset them[17].

Towards his own relatives, such as his children, Kagaya was quite strict due to his family's curse. However, he displayed the same gentle aura and demeanor towards them[18].
