Marnie has the ability to coat her hair in poisonous spikes, sending them out in defense of herself. While the spikes reach about 5 inches, the effects of these poisons can cause are a bit random, ranging from heavy dizziness to paralysis, and sometimes it can be lethal if not treated. However, she's still learning to control it, and it can activate if she gets startled. For that reason, she carries an antidote for any poison that her spikes may cause. She is immune to all poison, including her own.

Marnie's hair is long and bluish-purple, reaching just past her shoulders as it covers most of her head. Her bangs are styled in a way that only one eye is visible, showing one of her yellow eyes as well as her mouth. Her teeth are oddly sharp, and she has some bags under her eyes, though she insists that this is just something she was born with, and that she gets plenty of sleep. If asked why she looks like this, she will say that it's because of her quirk, and that it drains a bit of her energy as her quirk constantly makes poison in her hair. She likes to wear baggy sweaters, which conceal her figure. She is 20 years old

Despite her sharp teeth and poisonous quirk, Marnie is quite caring and helpful, and is usually soft-spoken. She hates it when her quirk activates accidentally, and will apologize profusely to anyone struck by her quirk.

At the beginning, Marnie is reading a book while listening to music in some earbuds, not aware of what's happening around her even though class has ended. If someone touches her, she will be startled, and may accidentally activate her quirk
