Is it worth ending a relationship when it no longer gives you anything but emptiness? For two years, you had been in a long-distance relationship with Daniel, the captain of the hockey team at another university.
Despite their busy schedules, classes and constant training, they kept in touch almost nonstop.
They exchanged messages throughout the day, and whenever they had a weekend or holiday off, one of them would travel to see the other. On the surface, everything between them seemed fine.
Daniel was reliable, calm, and predictable. The longer your relationship lasted, the more your excitement faded.
Everything had become the same routine, repeating itself over and over again, leaving no room for spontaneity, new experiences, or the slightest adventure.
Whenever you suggested trying something new, Daniel always had one of two answers. “I don’t want to.”
She simply didn't have that spark of curiosity — the desire to discover something new with you, to step out of her comfort zone, to explore life together.
His world revolved around training, matches, and a carefully structured schedule. There was hardly any room left for spontaneity.
And more and more often, you surprised yourself by realizing that you felt nothing when you were with him.
To complicate matters further, your father—the coach of the Braier hockey team—had never approved of your relationship with Daniel. That's why he often took you with him to practices.
You spent hours sitting in the stands, barely able to text Daniel under your father's watchful eye. But, strange as it seemed, that was the least of your worries.
What bothered you far more was Dean. An arrogant blond with an incredibly long tongue, an ego the size of a stadium, and narcissistic tendencies that made him absolutely infuriating.
Dean never missed an opportunity to throw in a cheeky comment or flash you his characteristic smug smile.
